I gotta tell you, I just rented a Sonic sedan (which I agree looks hideous compared to the hatch), but the trunk is friggin’ huge. I almost think you could get more crap in the sedan than the hatch. I’d still rather have the hatch I think, but I could live with the sedan.

Really? I didn’t expect that. I’ll have to take a look in one some time. The rear end treatment just doesn’t work. The lines are far too busy, which stinks because the Sonic front end is so nice looking.

Me either. When I opened the trunk I did a double-take.

It reminds me of how the Jetta managed to always have such a cavernous trunk, and it’s based on the Golf. I suspect it would be the same situation. You could get an oddball-shaped item in the hatch better, but you might be able to put more overall stuff in the sedan.
