One of my finance managers bojangled one of my deals out the door today. Wouldn’t call in the deal on the car the customer wanted because he felt like it was too hard, and he wouldn’t make enough. Instead started calling in deals on a completely different car that he wanted me to flip the customer too that would be an easier sell to the banks with more profit. All of this bojangling took 3.5 hours. Customer got pissed and said “when you have approval for the car I want, call me” and left. Well, my used car manager got the approval we needed in 10 minutes after the guy left because I stripped the deal back from finance. Now we cant get a hold of the customer. FML.

Back in my day we just called it “Brooming”.
You’d get fired on the spot for doing it too.
I kinda like “Bojangles”. The old Soft Shoe..

That’s exactly what I felt should have happened to this guy.

Never, Ever Broom an Up.
I almost got canned for doing that on a Saturday at one store. That was a fun day.

I didn’t mean the up should be broomed. I mean my Finance Manager should have been fired.

Ahh!
Got it. At the very least he should have been sent home for the day.

Question! What’s “bojangling”?

Thank you Jake, great question! Bojangling is the act of finding reasons to not do your job under the guise of it can't be done or something out of your control is stopping you.
