As many people as don’t like the movie H2G2, that was a pretty catchy musical number. Also, DNA was heavily involved in the script process at least at one point, so looney random derailment to nothing like the books/radio series is at least partly on him, probably.

So kill me, I like the film. Adams once said that he always meant to flesh out the Arthur-Trillian relationship, but he, you know, didn’t.

I don't mind it too much. Mos Def was a perfect casting choice though!

Agreed, and Bill Nighy was excellent as Slartibartfast. His scenes with Arthur were as close as the movie got to the British existentialism from the books.
