Ford just make a Fiesta RS and you win 2015.

*insert thinking velociraptor meme*

Would a Mazda3 GTX be mostly a CX-5?

I’d love Mazdaapeed and racing versions of every Mazda model, personally, once the CX-9 is redone that is.

I think the CX5 would be a bit tall but then again look at Mini. I think the new 3 would look pretty good with a little work here and there.

Ken Block’s Rally America car has to be road legal in order to compete....

I just need to be really, REALLY rich, and then I can drive one too!

The Fiesta pictured is the RRC which is similar to the RS WRC.

Malcolm Wilson of M-Sport out at Cockermouth (down the road from me) has been given approval for some expansion in the last few months by Cumbria County Council to build new facilities for innovation and testing so at least the foreseable future looks good for M-Sport.

These are simply stripped out Fiestas. This class they aren’t allowed to do anything to the car that doesn’t come with the car except add a rollcage, fuel cut off, etc... but they can strip it out and make what’s there lighter by shaving parts or tweaking them. The engine is a tweaked standard Fiesta engine, etc... . So all the stuff is possible, its just knowing what.

I saw this announcement this morning I’m super excited! I’m a big Subaru fan but Higgins and Subaru Rally Team really need some proper competition that isn’t Kenny from the Block or Pastrana. Hopefully this revives the Open Class in Rally America to where there’s multiple drivers fighting for the win like back when there was Pastrana, Block, Foust, ACP, and L’estage with a chance at winning. It’s been pretty monotone the past few seasons.

Nah, there’s a lot more going on than stripping and caging. That thing’s AWD, pushes about 350 horse with a restrictor, enjoys nearly a foot of suspension travel, is wider, runs a sequential gearbox, and has a lot going on in terms of aero. True enough though that it’s about 60% (40%?) off the shelf Ford parts built on an unmodified factory shell.

The closest to what you described would be an R1, but I don’t know if M-Sport even officially does those (anymore?). Also, the R5 they’re bringing to the States is a special edition, with a 2000cc engine instead of the 1598cc powerplant. It’s a non-FIA engine designed to compete with the more powerful American cars and it puts out even more power than the full WRC spec engine.
