People make me laugh. I know opinions are individual, but I don’t understand enthusiast sometimes. It’s been a few days since the new 7 series was unveiled and it seems everyone and their little brother has commented on it. “It’s boring”, “WHERE’S My E38”, “It looks like a 3 series”. Oh cmon guys what did you expect ? BMW is still on the same path they were on since 2003. This is the better 7 series since the E38, of course I’m speaking from my opinion. When did the 7 series not look like a large 3 series. BMW has been doing that since the 80’s. Were they more aggressive to the point you ignored it, yes. I like the E38, but I like the new one to0.
Look at this, for all of you saying this will be surpassed by the CT6, keep dreaming. BMW knows who will buy this car, they also know where it will be driven and who is driving it. This car wins simply by offering me a V8. I love a good V6, but not in a car the size of Kansas. One good Twin Turbo 4.4 Liter V8, Cadillacs Dual Turbo V6 can take a seat now. A for effort, but unless you’ve driven an S Class or 7 series you wouldn’t understand. I’ve driven an E38 as well as an S500. I can promise you that unless GM introduces a CT6-V or an equivalent they might as well take a seat. Based off of looks is not as bad to look at as the CT6.
The CT6 operates on the same formula the Germans have been using since before I was even born, Small, medium, Large. Cut, Copy, Paste, Stretch. The CT6 in itself is crisper in design and looks more American, but compared to cadillacs lineup it doesn’t stand out as anything special. I can see people accidently looking at CTS’s when their intent was to look at that German killer everyone is raving about.
I know where I want to be if I’m paying close to seventy large for a sedan. and it’s not in the backseat of a stretched CTS.Of course, this is all my own personal opinion.

I think the new 7-series definitely looks better than the outgoing one, but it is way uglier than the CT-6 in my opinion.

Still would take an A8 or S550 over this new 7 series any day.

You would have been better served posting the non M sport version.

curious to see what Alpina do to it.

I gotta say, the 7 was never on top.

Of the three big German luxury coupes I think it is pretty clear the 7 series and A8 are always going to play second fiddle. Cadillac will likey have the sales figures to match but only if they add a V8 which I am sure they will.

The big 3 sell almost 3x more cars than Cadillac

OK let’s talk.
Have you driven the TT V6 CT6? No? Then how can you tell it to take a seat? Because it’s not a typical V8? Why don’t we see how well it moves before passing that judgement.
You can make your case about looks, they are always going to be subjective.
Personally I have never liked the look of BMW’s, everyone seems to love their “iconic grille” but I’ve never liked it so until they make a car without it, I’ll never like the appearance.
If you always want to be in the front seat, I honestly don’t know why you’d consider a CT6 or a 7 series. Makes more sense to me to get a CTS-V if you prefer the front.

Meh. I’d much rather spend time back here instead.
Also the CT6 doesn’t seem to have a foreboding appearance. One that would make you move to the next lane if it suddenly speeds up behind you.
The Lincoln on the other hand....
If/when this comes to market I think it’ll have a better shot than Caddy currently

I wonder if those numbers are closer car to car. They also have a far more blotted lineup than Cadillac. I wouldn't say it was a fair comparison

Looks like a BMW so what. And the Cadillac looks like a Cadillac. Breaking news hu. Arguing about looks is stupid.
And we all know damn well that A V series is coming. And it will be a beast.

Maybe...It’s nearly impossible to find any trustworthy comparisons on a car to car level for any cars! The only reason I was comfortable dropping that statistic was because it was from Reuters. Link

If I had the proper financial situation I’d definitely lease one when it came out too. Stuntin’ on all the homies yo!

Bmw is on top of what exactly?
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:01 |

The CT6 looks much better on the outside.
The type of engine doesn’t matter as much as power. How much more power does the BMW have?
The BMW will probably cost quite a bit more as well. I'd rather have the Caddy

Sorry for my 110% assholey statement. I just can’t take Lincoln seriously until Ford does. Whereas GM is dumping 12 BILLION into Cadillac. Hopefully I’m wrong and the Continental is great …. unlike their last cool concept.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:29 |

Not cool bro.
How are you going to hate on Lincoln for not investing in new products by laughing at their investment in new products?!
Milky: Damn Lincoln step your game up!
*Lincoln steps game up*
Milky: I can’t take you serious you never step your game up!
Lincoln: But.. But I just did...
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:30 |

and more importantly how you going to dismiss Caddy for using a TT V6 that no one has driven yet. Like it’s gauranteed to be slow vs the V8 bmw?
OK
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:33 |

Would rather Phaeton
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:37 |

FWIW, The Caddy is my preference (based on looks alone), and I’m a huge Bimmer fan...

Ha sorry, but its not introduction yet! I’ll consider their game stepped up when there is great production car on the road.
The new MKwhatever SUV is a good step but even my Ford designer friends think there is too much Ford on the inside.

By huge, I mean both metaphorically and physically (man, I’ve got to lose this weight).
![]() 06/11/2015 at 10:49 |
|
Your Ford Designer friends should be fired then.
Check out the Black Label Lincolns and it’s the MKX. There are 2 of them, be respectful and learn their names, like everyone else has learned the Caddy alphabet soup and MB/BMW/Audi names.
All the newly remodeled Lincolns look great. the MKZ, the MKC, and the MKX.
MKT is being discontinued soon. I believe the Continental is being released as the new MKS whenever the in market date is but I’m not sure, maybe they’ll keep an MKS in between MKZ and Continental. They’ll just need to finally do a ground up re-do of the Navigator (MKN? Come on guys, Navigator sticks out like a sore thumb, if you’re doing it - do it).
![]() 06/11/2015 at 11:06 |
|
Hey now they’re good people! But yea I should learn the names :/ can’t argue that.
But this still bugs me.
I’d still put money on the Conti concept just being another MKS … but as I said further up, hopefully Im wrong.

How can the 7 series be on top when the S-Class has outsold it since 2006?
![]() 06/11/2015 at 11:44 |
|
holy shit it has a screen and the steering wheel is the same shape!
SAME CAR!
Sorry bro, other than those 2 things, those pictures could be a Ford and an Audi for all I know. Very different, it’s in your head. If I have to pull one the lincoln pic down and mark everything different in photoshop for you I will.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 12:02 |

Same hard points and same content. Sorry not sorry but you can tell Lincoln was given the ford and a few more grand.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 12:29 |
|
Let’s help illustrate then. I put a Red Dot on everything that changed and will list below:
We’ll go with obvious to least obvious:
Logo Change (duh)
Push Button Trans
Center Console - spacious sans shifter, and different lift open section
No compatment under the screen/in front of ford shifter
Completely different stereo/HVAC section under screen
Different shaped Vents
Different shaped Trim work
Wood trim on dash/door
Steering wheel - only real change is some button shape and the wood trim
different shaped dash board cover with built in center speaker
Different shaped side window defrost vent
Completely different seats
I could have been more obnoxious and broken some of those apart further but you get the point.
In other breaking news the overall general architecture of a Honda also matches an Acura.

Well at least I know I’m unbiased in that because I also don’t like Acuras, Buicks, A3/TT, etc.
Yea the interiors are slightly different but you could swap the badges and no one would be the wiser.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 13:17 |

Note how I didn’t mention the S-class. Look at it, it’s beautiful, and it’s functionally one of the best coaches out there next to Rolls; but I’m pretty sure the BMW, from the experience I’ve had with High end BMW and Mercedes cars, the BMW would be the better one to actually own and drive instead of just being driven in.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 13:18 |

But we’re all still talking from our own preferences and perspectives !
look at my last sentence !

That’s not fair, it’s technically a bargain Bentley.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 13:20 |

Honestly though, would you buy the non M of anything from recent BMW ? I used that photo on purpose.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 13:23 |

Having never driven either I am no expert but there is something about having a V12 S-Class that just sounds so appealing to me. The 7 doesn't get the same level of exicetment form me
![]() 06/11/2015 at 13:27 |

The Mercedes is heavenly and also a monster... but I dunno, the E38 was something else all together. it felt like an executive’s car, but you didn’t need to hit buttons for it to become the monster.
It was ready to be driven at all times.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 15:38 |

Yeah. All of them. M sport only says I wish I could afford a real M car.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 15:59 |

That’s not true at all.
Look at all those red dots.
The teenage pizza boy doesn’t have that many red dots! (sorry too far)
anyhow, at least you’re consistent.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 19:08 |

I could care less about the Cadillac, nobody is going to buy those anyways.
The BMW looks exactly the same as every other BMW. All they did is rip the face off the 3-Series and graft it on. Boom, new car?
10/10 would rather have A8.
![]() 06/11/2015 at 20:14 |

It IS a bargain Bentley.
