That’s all that matters

Same with my car. You got warped rotors?

It’d make me happy too if it wasn’t on them ‘lil raayms.

Best car in the world.

The Yukon always ends up with warped rotors. The reason: The dumbass who designed the brake system on these trucks made them rear-biased so the fronts barely engage during normal braking. The front only full engage when you stomp on the pedal.

And that’s what it’s all about.

Ugh.
So glad GM killed the Northstar, especially FWD applications. Having to drop the entire front subframe to do a simple transmission service or replace yet another oil pan gasket is a PITA.

It’s a big boat Cadillac, I think it could put a smile on anyone’s face.
My Yukon makes me happy, it gives me that “go anywhere, do anything” feeling and I love it.

Is that seriously a thing?
You sure the proportioning valve is not bad or installed wrong?
![]() 06/10/2015 at 18:38 |

Nope it’s actually a thing. I know a bunch of guys with Suburbans, Tahoes and Silverados and they go through the same thing.
I can usually change the rear brakes twice before I have to do the fronts.

Gotta love Oppo

And an F430 in between

That’s ridiculous. The Brakes on my Excursion are pretty dumb too.
The caliper brackets drag on the rotors sometimes because the hub assembly is so sloppy and it eats front rotors for breakfast

Big.boat caddie. Would love to drive one

I miss my grandma’s ‘04 Deville. That thing would flat haul ass. And crazy comfy, too. Best road trip car ever.

I’d like to meet the guy who said “let’s have a 5000lb SUV rely solely on its rear brakes to stop it”
You can tell when the fronts are fully engaged as well. During normal-medium braking it feels like any other car but if you stomp the pedal they clamp so hard that the truck does a huge nose dive and will throw you forward (which results in the seat belts instantly locking).
Sounds like you have a nightmare of a braking system as well. You’d think brakes would be one of the most important components on the big trucks/SUVs.

Nah, need pads, dawg.

These wheels really look great on this Caddy

Ugh.
So glad that this is my car and not yours. That way I can enjoy it and all the northstar awesomeness instead of someone who can't appreciate it.

If I had like $4k I’d totally get these.

My guess is he was using an iPhone and double tapped Space

Why ? Apart from the early head gasket issues, they were solid, smooth engines.

Gangsta gangsta.

Smooth, perhaps, but hardly solid. My old shop stopped working on them and referred customers to the dealership a few blocks down because the labor rate and time taken to do simple services was too much and the engines were too finicky. Too many electrical problems l, but that’s most gms from that era. We set up a display with a malfunctioning Body Control Module (from an Envoy or Rendezvous, IIRC) and possible symptoms of a bad one just so customers wouldn’t think we were making crap up when we would discover one.
