What is the original video?

Looks like this started off as a stupid mistake, which caused several more stupid mistakes. These mistakes, combined, are a good enough reason to consider whether this person should be operating a motor vehicle in the first place.
Unfortunately we’re not seeing the whole situation unfold. I’d like to see the full video; I’ll be surprised if the rider doesn’t go full fury on the nimrod who crushed his bike.

The comment thread said the driver was actually on a learners permit.

Sadly the original video was deleted.

Of course it was.

Why did they turn? If they would have backed up in a straight line they would have been fine. They were in the inside lane when they entered the intersection but the driver obviously doesn’t know how to reverse in a straight line and entered the lane the guy was in.

1. A driver on a permit shouldn’t be driving their parents’ 2015 vehicle.
2. They went into raverse, instead of drive.

Looks like they need a lot more instruction before they’re allowed on the road.

Waiting for somebody (probably an SUV owner) to claim this is why motorcycles are unsafe. (;)

Of course it was a Toyota.

This story would never be believed without video evidence.
“I totaled my bike today.”
“What, how?”
“I was stopped at an intersection and an idiot in an SUV reversed over it.”
“So, you ran into a curb doing sixty, and wedged it under an SUV?”

The bike wasnt grounded to the ground enough.

I drove my fathers brand new pilot just fine on permits. In fact, we were both comforted by the fact that it had waaaay more safety features than the 800$ montero I bought

that must be one of the 4wd RAV4s - did you see how capably it crawls up over that bike? :)

There are two cars that I’ve learned almost always contain idiot drivers, at least here in Michigan. Chevy Sparks and Toyota crossovers. Always give those PLENTY of room to be dumbasses.
