Or, to be more accurate, I grabbed just a bit too much front brake while trying to maneuver around a gas station. No front wheel speed means no angular momentum means bike no stay upright no more.
Thankfully there’s basically no damage other than the tank and brake lever. The lever should be easy enough to fix, the tank... not so much.
The frustrating thing is that the tank wouldn’t have had a scratch if the steering stop hadn’t given way. Who knows, though. Maybe if it hadn’t, the force would have bent the bars instead.

I’d check your bars anyway. When my monster got backed into on the street, the tank dented and the bars bent. Also are they still using plastic tanks or did they go back to metal?

Ouch, glad you’re ok.

Seeing that almost made me cry!

Man, that sucks. Mine fell over in the driveway the other day while it was warming up and curled the clutch lever around, thankfully nothing else. My roommate wasn’t so lucky. The other week he lost control starting up at a light and his flew into a curb and he needs to replace almost the entire front half.

While I can’t say 100%, I’d wager $60 it’s metal given how it dented.

+42 imaginary bonus points for the pelican reference.
Sorry about the bike, though. :( Glad you’re okay.

It’s pretty tricky to hurt yourself at 0 mph, but I’m glad I didn’t manage anyway.
And thanks for the bonus points. I was getting kind of sad that nobody had picked up on my history-of-excuses headline.

And yeah, I’m going to have them go over the bars and forks and such just to make sure.

Ducutty?

Hopefully this will balance it out.

I’d leave the battle damage. Monsters earn their title.

I guess I could just leave the tank and call it a Dentcati.

Yeah, I’m all good. If you’re going to fall, wearing motorcycle armor when you do it is a pretty good idea.

I’m just impressed your Ducati has two front tires ;)

Could a PDR guy take that out? It looks like a fairly simple dent, but I don’t actually know anything about that sort of voodoo magic.

Probably, but it might affect resale down the line.

Yeah brah. It’s a super exclusive option.

I know. I had to dodge a couple on Central.

Those damn New Mexico pelicans.

Resale? What makes you think you will get the opportunity to do that? It’s Italian, self-immolation before resale is it’s motto, isn’t it? ;)

Ducati has actually made huge strides in quality and reliability over the last few years, much to the chagrin of the purists. BMW’s are the ones to watch out for. Pieces of shit they are.

Ouch! Glad you’re okay, always a terrible feeling.
Pretty sure that tank is metal, mine is but that’s a somewhat more older Monstrosity.

Yeah, ducati’s are solid... Not even that much maintenance required..
