I’m not sure how many others out there have had this, but the trusty Honda D16 in my CRX decided the oil seals around the spark plug tubes should leak. What that means is that I needed to pull the valve cover and the rocker assembly in order to reach both sets of seals.

I’ve done a ton of work on my car(s) in the past, but I’ve never really had to start taking stuff off the engine. I was kind of worried that I was going to mess something up or (typical to working on anything) find something that is impossible to remove. In this case, nothing of the sort. It lives again and ready to take down to NJMP next week.

Mission accomplished!

I wish mine weren’t so difficult, because I gotta do mine, whenever I have the time :(

I’ve torn down some D-series engines. Great design, great for a first deep teardown.

I did the same on my CRX. Snapped one of the valve cover bolts

I stripped three bolts replacing my exhaust manifold. Frankly I don’t even know why I bother sometimes.

I have really terrible luck with everything. I think I'm going to stick to minor repairs in the future.

Lol, I guess the owners before me (as have I) stayed on the oil changes. I’m also guessing that someone along the way has rebuilt the engine for that last little bit. It’s been a racer since like ‘93.
