The Greenwich Concours d’Elegance is an event that happens once a year in Connecticut. It seems as if every car enthusiast in the northeast makes the pilgrimage to see and bid on many wonderful vehicles. This makes for a very large and extravagant event. It also makes for a neat !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Thankfully, the rain held up for much of the morning, and a great time was had by all.

Thank you !
That car is a 1955 Siata 300BC Sports Barchetta. It is amazing.

Really great pictures of some really great cars. Thanks for sharing these!!
![]() 05/31/2015 at 20:32 |

That is literally a little red barchetta from a better vanished time. Word is that the guy’s uncle kept it preserved for him for over fifty years, and he would drive it only once a week.

Many Miuras seem to sit very low in the back; this looks to have lots of negative camber also. Too much weight from the engine for the suspension design, or springs that should be replaced? Or are they set up that way on purpose? With those size wheels and tires, it almost looks like it would rub if they were vertical. Whatever, gorgeous car. Can’t tell if it’s yellow or green on my screen. God I wish I knew someone who had one or could pay somebody to let me drive one for a few hours. Even if it were in roads snaking through the bulldozer-clogged tunnels of Italy.
![]() 05/31/2015 at 20:50 |

I’d assume it’s stock, and since so many are still like that, it must really not be a problem for the car. Either way, it gives the car such a great look. Fantastic piece of machinery all around.

For a car related event; a pretty relaxed and civilized event, not a tube top, beer cozy, or truck with over sized off road tires to be seen.

You would think one of the most beautiful designs of the 60’s would be a Ferrari but for me it’s an Italian design but on a British car. It is one of my favorite car design of all.

I know I was very satisfied with the lack of bro trucks and chromed out supercharged muscle cars in attendance.

Yeah when people say 60’s design, Italian always comes to mind first, but then you turn and see this piece of art on the grass.

It’s probably stock. Lamborghini just didn’t know what they were doing yet because they were a pretty new car company and they had no experience building high-output mid-engine super cars because nobody had ever done it!
This car has its share of design flaws. But don’t care, it’s still the coolest and most important road car ever. Some people credit Mercedes for creating the first supercar but I disagree. It’s Lamborghini that set the template. Sleek cab-forward mid-engine sports cars are what everyone instantly recognizes as a supercar, including people who don’t know anything about cars.

Glad I did.
![]() 05/31/2015 at 21:47 |

P1900. Pretty rare. Fiberglass body. Other than that, not much to recommend it. A failed design experiment by Volvo. Only a few dozen made. Underpowered and flexy. Not what you really want in a sporting car.

Thanks, and no, if someone modifying my photo equates to hilarity like this, I’m perfectly okay with it. So funny

I’m kind of glad that cars today look like crap, it makes you appreciate the older cars that much more.

I like that he’s got a Big Daddy Ed Roth style of t-shirt on, with a Road Runner by the looks of it.

Maybe because the Dinos are near them? Or DBR2s?

I could not agree more with this comment.

Yeah I glanced at the shirt, probably one of the only muscle cars there!
![]() 05/31/2015 at 21:53 |

There was another guy there doing sketches as well.
This one was $150 iirc for a pencil drawing, he had a (roughly) 8.5/11” canvas print on a frame of a sick LeMans racer for like $500. I mean if you have the money they’re definitely worth it.

Interesting. The originality of the SVs is hugely important I’m sure. Did the results come out today? I didn’t stick around long enough to find out who won.

Oh god, this car. It’s so Japanese. It’s right from when the Japanese started to make good cars. It’s a rotary, it’s distinctive, it’s perfect.

I had the honor of being invited to this one year. My college had a supermileage car they wanted to display. I was snobby enough to turn them down.
Okay I actually had to turn them down due to a sponsor conflict. You gotta promise sponsors first dibs on any marketing value for a project like that one.
