And decided to go for a little drive in the 7 Series
The McBarge
It’s nice to have Burrard Inlet 5 minutes from my house
The Chevron refinery, usually known as Mordor or Gotham
Mornings like this remind me that I’m lucky to live where I do

It was a floating McDonalds built for Expo ‘86, and stayed in use in False creek until 1991 when they’re mooring lease was up or something, then it got towed to Burrard Inlet near where I live and has been anchored here ever since. It’s changed owners several times, each with a different plan to revitalize it, but nothing has happened yet. It’s one of the most interesting urbanex spots in the area, although you need a boat and....entry tools....to get inside. Well worth the effort though.

That’s amazing. I wasn’t actually expecting it to be a literal McDonald’s barge. 80’s... cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Haha, apparently it was super poplar up right up until it closed, to the point that some people just want it to open as a McDonalds again
