I was reading the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and the thing about the diamond-studded speedo that apparently only ever exists on the order form, it’s box permanently empty of checkmark (*sadface*). What other phantom options are out there for other cars?

Power rear vent windows in G-body sedans are practically unobtanium.

Factory voltmeter on the first gen BMW MINIs. It was never featured in the standard brochure and was relegated to a more obscure accessories booklet. I’ve never seen any R50-53 MINI have this feature, except mine.

You could order second generation Saturn Vues with factory navigation, but it was an over $2,000 option and I think out of all the second gen Vues I've looked at on Craigslist, I've maybe seen one.

I knew a guy with a late 80s early 90s Pontiac GTP with a manual transmission. I used to work at a dealership and never saw one. Not even in the system to order. But they pulled his VIN and it left the factory like that. The box to tick was invisible, so I guess that counts?

The first-year ‘86 Taurus and Sable brochures showed an available power front vent window option, which I assumed would have worked the same way as in Lincolns of the ‘70s and ‘80s. As far as I can tell, no such car was produced. Also, the sheepskin and leather seats optional in the ‘82 (and ‘83?) Escort and Lynx - never seen one of those.
Then there’s the huge Olds Toronado XSR with inward-sliding T-tops. The one prominently featured in the 1977 brochure, a prototype, would be the only one ever built. (It still exists by the way). The unique bent wraparound rear window did make production in ‘77-’78 XS models but only with a standard moonroof.
