So I was shopping around for a decent leather cleaner. My seats in my ES300 weren’t bad, but it is a daily driver and in New York, the pollutants really grime up the whole interior. When I bought the car 3 years ago I was amazed at how prestine the seats were, but as time went buy I figured it was some kind of dealer trick. No way a car with 130,000 miles has seats without cracking or creasing.
So I tried to see how clean I can get them and Leatherique kept getting recommended around these parts. I picked some up from Amazon and swore for 50 bucks, if this doesn’t work, the wrath of Jax would rain down upon Oppo the likes of which you have never seen!
So I get it, and I start rubbin’ and massagin’ the oil into my seat. It’s actually quite a relaxing process. What I didn’t know was that the seats should absorb the oil for like a day. It was only the online instructions which I saw after oiling it up. I got so mad, because I needed the car later that day. So I just parked it in the sun, and rolled up all the windows to make like a suana effect which they say you should.
A few hours later I went back, and saw that the dirt was now all sludgy like. The oil actually raised it from the seats. I took the “Prestine Cleaner” and started wiping it on and off. The Lexus seats have those creases in them, especially in the back, so it’s important to get into them with a little elbow grease though. I’m sure it would be easier with just a smooth seat.
Edit: Those dark spots is just dirt from the windshield
I wish I had before pics, but they were pretty dirty. The seats were almost bluish because of my sexy jeans and the coloring. I know if I actually left the oil on overnight, it would have come out even better. So I’ll chalk this up as a pre cleaning, the next round in a few weeks should be better.

yeah I am one of the biggest proponents for this stuff. I love the smell, and it really does work. You really need to let it sit on there hot all day if you can. I usually wipe it down with old white socks to see how damn nasty the stuff is coming out of the leather. After a full deep clean, the interior should smell like a new baseball glove and look fantastic. I usually take the dirt off before using the prestine clean also, otherwise you are suspending some of the grime and smearing it around. Good job, keep carrying the torch. Lexol is for boneheads

Works better and faster then leatherique (leatherique is still worth the money but I'd use steam first then wrap it up with leatherique). Only payed $55 for my steamer.

Definitely next on my list of things to buy for my Miata. Seats are in decent condition and I would like them to stay that way. Been using a cheap Meguiars spray that seems to at least clean the seats but I really want to order this so that I can truly condition them.
