It appears Flight Club is all but dead. This makes me very sad. Nothing new has been posted there since May 21st. There’s a guy about to take off on a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but who cares, right?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

The Douglas DC-8 first flew on this date in 1958, but that’s not important either. I’ve even emailed the Jalopnik guys about returning, but I did not receive a reply.

But you get to miss out on the unionization drama, which is nice.

Wow! As an employee of a major airline, and member of a union whose leaders have been in contract negotiations for FOUR YEARS, I know that happy employees don’t unionize. This doesn’t surprise me though, coming from Gawker. The lack of communication and feedback when I wrote for Flight Club was infuriating! Matt and Co. cut me in early January after achieving record traffic in December (>800,000 unique US visitors). Totally blind-sided.

It’s strange, but what can we do?

My recommendation would be to run from Gawker Media as quickly as possible

Weird. I used to read it, but havent been on it in a couple months, and now looking at it I see that the normal Jalop guys seem to have been posting it, but maybe not on the FP? Honestly, I really didn’t understand why they’ve tried to create so many sub-blogs. Sucks that Flight Club is no more :/ I’ll pour one out for it tonight :)

Did they give you reasons or an explanation for cutting you? This seems like horrible mismanagement

It’s a bummer. Those of us who have an interest in civil aviation have noticed. Tyler is doing good stuff around military stuff, but you guys were just starting to roll. Jalopnik succeeds due to the passion of the writers and you guys were bringing that to the aviation stuff.

As Sweden mentioned, there is all kinds of weirdness brewing in the Gawker universe. There is the union thing, the separation of subblogs like Oppo from the parent blog (see the URL), plagerism and other issues.

The sub-blog thing drove me nuts. I can see having designated sites for military and aviation, but then other blogs would still post their own military and aviation stories (and I’m not talking about promotional sharing). IMHO, if Gizmodo or Gawker or whoever wanted to post an aviation story, it should have gone straight on the page that focuses solely on that type of content.

The exact verbiage I was given was: “We want to take the site in another direction. We want less airline content (even though those stories brought the most traffic), and we want someone who isn’t afraid to be brutal to the airlines.”

I feel like I wrote plenty of stories about the stupid things airlines do - new fees, bad customer service, etc. My “boss” didn’t see the value of getting me out there to experience and review new airline products or even the planes themselves, even though CAR reviews are a prime focus on Jalopnik.

The only reason I’d want to come back is for the money. It was pretty good.

It’s Gawker, they want hit pieces. It’s unfortunate, I really preferred your stories.

“Which Forex pair and time frame is best to trade” is the frequently asked question and I want do give you the DEFINITE ANSWER.

Are you expecting that I am going to say something like EUR/USD on 5-minute time frame or GBP/USD on daily...? No, it is not so simple, but SIMPLE ENOUGH we can figure it out!

The “PROBLEM” is that markets change over time. If GBP/USD was a well trending currency pair a few years ago, today it is another one.

I actually want to let you know about a SPECIAL TOOL that I use to find the BEST TRENDING PAIRS among all the Forex pairs.

==> http://www.forextrendy.com ?hfsdtb63546
