The Focus RS was running late so and a neighbour asked me to give his Seat Leon courtesy car a quick clean (ahem, one hour 30 minutes, which is a quick wash for me).

By which time main car of the day came. Only had four hours with her but first things first was to clean and dress the engine bay then clean, fallout remover, rinse and seal.

Rear wheel as it arrived.

Kinja'd!!!

Sprayed with Bilt Hamber Autowheels and left

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Brake dust being dissolved

Agitated (not really needed but for peace of mind) and thoroughly rinsed

Kinja'd!!!

Sealed with Gyeon Wetcoat (lovely beading)

So even when wheels look relatively clean, there is still the ever present brake dust lurking.

Car was snow foamed, rinsed, washed, rinsed, de-ironised, rinsed, de-tarred, rinsed and rewashed and rinsed. sealed with Gyeon Wetcoat, dried and topped with Gtechniq C2v3. Gloss black sealed with Migliore Cima Sealant.

Finished results. Really great car and colour, absolute pleasure to work with.

The paint on that RS is fantastic after you got done with it. I saw a new one in the showroom that had worse looking paint than that.

She has a little road-rash on the front splitter and in front of the rear wheel arches where the front wheels have kicked the stones up and the black mesh on the front has started to rust a little but otherwise she is superb.

I never used to be into these cars but after working with her today, I’ve got to say I really enjoyed it and really taken with her.

Not too bad for a few year old car, my Twingo has a bit of rash on the bottom of the bumper from the ridiculous speed bumps around here.

Future classics those RS’s. I’d love a blue one.

His friend has a garage queen blue one. Leaves the garage apparently twice a year, for a car show and for its MOT. Shame really.

The blue is nice but this green really works on it.

It must take some resistance to not want to take that thing for a drive all of the time.

As I said to the owner when he asked if I wanted to go for a spin. I just said its about the car for me. Certain cars are a pleasure to work with (granted the rear spoiler was an arse to work on) and for me its about making them look their best or the best I can make them. I could of gladly spent the next four hours just admiring her lines and finishing her off.

I text him this morning with the rain we’ve been having, he replied ‘its great it just runs off’ so I think he’s happy.

Maybe some saving is in order so you can get your own haha.

Mine is getting it’s first real clean in a couple days (I’ve just been rinsing it off recently) so I’m hoping the paint comes out nice. I’m popping out some slight door dings while I have the interior out too since I’m fitting new speakers.

The neighbour came across (the one with the Seat courtesy car0 and we got talking and he asked which I’d prefer the Ford or the Skoda and honestly I’d have to go with the Skoda. The Ford is nice and everything but I’d get bored after a while, especially with all the A-holes wanting to race me all the time and the others wanting me to rev the engine and such. The Skoda ticks all my boxes and who wants to race me in a Skoda Superb estate?
