Nashville Oppos... Help again please!

Finally found an apartment, got everything approved along with renters insurance etc. Heading up Saturday morning to sign the lease and get moved in. It’s right near the NW corner of the airport and about 6 miles to Broadway (read; 10-15$ Uber ride which is just absolutely perfect). Just using Broadway as a central point here, I’d have to imagine it’s fairly expensive.

Anyways, I’m going to be working a lot but I’m in my early twenties and really enjoy being out and about when I have the chance. Once in a while I like to stay in and be by my lonesome but for the most part I get antsy and need to get out. I’ve tried some Google searches but just couldn’t come up with much good info from “locals”; mostly just tourism sites from the state.

It’s a weird feeling for me, whenever I’m back in Chicago I just feel like I’m back home, even if I haven’t been there in 8 months. I know the spots, I know which streets are ill advised to drive down after 10pm, etc. so feeling “touristy” isn’t something I’m really familiar with. So just looking for some good spots if you guys and gals have any suggestions.

If this helps at all; I like really cheap beer, I love country music, and I’m on a new grad budget.

Congrats! Being new to the area, I would recommend checking out meetup.com. You can join groups based on things you like to do and it will help you meet other people with the same interests. I used it when I moved to Richmond, VA 2 years ago, and I’ve made some great friends through there.

I’ll be working with a lot of people around my age who have also come from out of area so that will be a good starting point. The online thing would be brand new to me, just kind of figured on going with the work/bar (which I’m really comfortable with) route to get going. Always something to think about, thanks!

12 south in green hills has great food and coffee if you’re into that sort of thing. Also, the gulch is really cool. Cookout on West End (near Vandy) is great cheap food (stuff yourself for $5-6). Cars and Coffee is every Saturday at Carmike cinemas in Franklin (exotics is first Saturday of every month), and you should go to the Lane Motor Museum and take the basement tour. I go to school in Nashville but I’m back home now for the summer, but it’s a great city with tons of stuff to do. Have fun man!

Thanks man! I’m unfortunately going to be working most Saturdays but I will for sure hit C&C when I have the chance! And thank God there’s a cookout, we had one at school and I am all over their bbq pork sandwich, can’t beat that plate for ~5$. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the gulch for younger people too so I’ll also definitely check that out. The LMM will also be a great day-off adventure. Thanks again!

I was looking at WS6’s all night on eBay and the web which is why I posted that picture. Me and my dad were looking at 77-79s for a while before we had gotten the 911 years ago. I’ve loved them all throughout the years. One will be mine eventually.
