That terrible dealer graphic is gone! Only took me a minute of heating it with a hair dryer and then using my nail to peel it off. I guess since it was only on for a couple of weeks it went without a fight. Before pic below.

Any reference to Ft. Myers is worth pulling. FYI, there’s an autocross in Punta Gorda now at Three Palms Speedway. Lots and lots of seat time and way closer to you than the one in Ft. Myers..

Glad you got it off fella. I hate those sort of things. In the U.K. its mostly these sort of stickers on the rear window. Looks horrific.

I always take them off of friends cars (I ask first), some have been worried of ‘but I need to get my car serviced with them, what will they say?’ to which I reply ‘you paid for the car with your money, its your car. They aren’t paying you anything to advertise for them so why should you have that hideous sticker on’ to which I always get ‘your right, get rid of that bloody thing’.

I told the dealer I bought the Mini from that if they put one on, I’d unwind the deal, because they wouldn’t be paying me a retainer to advertise for them.

I’ve taken all the ones on the non-trucks off. The one on the truck is staying on because the guy that owns the dealer is a friend, and we get other consideration :)

I didn’t get a picture because I was driving, but a few days ago I saw a car with a dealer badge on top of the original dealer decal. They didn’t even try to remove it first. It looked so horrible.

Is it weird that I wanna put the dealer sticker back on my truck? It was purchased from a dealer that was owned by a family friend of ours (I know, small world) and I can realistically ask them if they have any lying around

I would’ve said something but by the time we finished buying it, it was past 7:30 and only my sales guy was left there... and the dealer is over an hour away so I wouldn’t come back

I’d make a point of buying the car and before it left the forecourt I’d peel the sticker off in front of them (taking a razor blade and some tar and glue remover just to be prepared).

Thanks! Just ordered some all season floor mats (OEM Volvo so even better!)

My issue is I want to do this car right. Which is pricey. I want to get the rims actually powder coated and done nicely; not using a can of plastidip.

I’ve also started saving for my Polestar tune

Fair point.. I was also thinking but don’t know about blacking out the grille.

The car doesn’t wear a lot of chrome so its not that big of a deal.. but i dont want people to think I “murdered” my car...

I wish I had a photo but years ago I saw the most douchey, insidious dealer advertising: they put a translucent dealer logo inside the high-mounted brake light assembly. (photo above is just a funny one an owner installed in their Passat: “Brake, you ass!” in German)

It was only conspicuous when the brakes were applied so most owners wouldn’t notice it.
