I’m planning on helping a friend tomorrow with swapping the rusty doors off his fox body stang for some much cleaner ones. Only problem is that I have no idea where to start really haha. Anybody have some insight?

Step 1: open door.

Probably need to take the inner door panels off to disconnect any wiring first. Then remove the door outright, hopefully the hinge isn’t rusted.

Support the doors with something while you unbolt them, or you’ll drop them. Swapping the lock barrels over is usually the most awkward part.

There’s going to be a connector either inside the door panel or inside the kick panel. After that it’s a Fox body, so you’ve got two door pins per door...put your jack under there, pull the pins, and you're done. Also, buy new pins if you haven't already. The bushings get really sloppy and the doors start to droop. They'll close much nicer with new pins.

He has the key from the donor doors. Pretty sure he just plans to carry both keys.

Instructions unclear, door already has large enough rust holes to consider it “open” all the time haha

Yup rusty hinges for sure. Hoping they are workable because I can't see how to replace those.

If its anything like my truck its gonna be four bolts holding it on to the car and a few connectors inside the door panel for speakers and what not. The door panel should be held on with phillips screws

Yup, lock barrels

Should fenders be removed to access the pins?

Nope, they should be easily accessible simply by opening the door. Gonna look something like the above picture.
