Front wheel drive cars are at a natural disadvantage when it comes to looking good. Typically moving the drive wheels up front means you can move the passenger cabin forward which negatively affects the proportions. As such almost all of the cars that are almost universally rear or awd drive. But what cars buck the trend? Surely there’s some lookers in the bunch? Here’s my top list, what’s yours?
Cord
Oldsmobile Toronado
First gen Eldorado
Lancia Fulvia
Alfa Romeo Brera
Honda Integra
Peugeot 205 GTI
Saab 99
Original Mini
Peugeot 406 Coupe
Opel Astra OPC/VW Scirocco R/Renault Megan RS
Honorable mentions: First gen Oldsmobile Aurora, late model Eldorados, newer VW GTis, lastes gen Accords and Impalas.

I can’t believe how much more attractive the new Accords are than the new computer mice— I mean Civic..

For some weird reason, I liked the 99 Riviera:
The Grand Prix GTP also has some nice lines:

The 2005 Acura TL looked good as well.

Current Gen Mazda6 wagon. Shame it’s not available in the U.S.

Honda Civic 8th Gen, Type R
Citreon DS
2nd Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse (Yes, the GSR comes in AWD)
Kia Optima
and Various Golfs and Passats.
I don’t think its an unattractive class. There are alot of cars in this category.

You covered it pretty well I think, but I would like to throw one more in there.
4th gen and up Celicas were mostly good looking cars, my favorite being the final incarnation.

The Gen 1 Solara was very handsome.
The 2016 Mazda 6 looks so good.
And love it or hate it, the Eagle Vision shocked the world. I still think it looks handsome.

.jdb.’s DS is a good call. But Citroën made an even better looking FWD.
And don’t even start about the Chapron creations based on the DS.
That Fulvia, Mini and 205 GTI definitely would be on my list as well though!

I love the back half of the those Rivearas, the front not so much. I used really like Grand Prixes when I was younger, but they haven’t aged that well.

The first gen Solara was great. they made the 2nd gen look so awkward. The first gen reminds me a bit of the first gen Lexus SC.

Both the late 90s Eclipses, and 3000GT were pretty fine looking, but you’d want both in their awd trims.

Quite possibly the classiest late model fwd car.

Yes. Weirdly enough, the first-gen Solara V6 with a stick would be one of only two Toyotas I would buy with my own money.

I know I know, why the fuck is this guy suggesting a Minivan is one of the best looking FWD cars *hints at username*. But to me, the J11 is one of the few cars to have the special presence of a high speed train, the TGV in particular, even though it looks nothing like one.
Avantime to calm down the crowds down

I love the first gen LH cars

Both nice! I love me some Pontiac and think the Bonne GXP was the best-looking thing (before the G8) Pontiac had since some time in the late seventies

The Type S looks even better

As much as I HATE to say it, the Solara is a relatively handsome car.

My next car. :)
I adore these. People say they’re underpowered blah blah blah. Drove one and loved the way it drove just as much as I love the way it looks. I can't wait until I can get one.

The Bonneville GXP!!
That’s the one I was looking for! Thanks mate!
Pontiac’s design was really hit or miss in the 00’s: they made some sleek machines... and they made the Aztec.

Isn’t it hard to believe that the Camry, a car that is the very definition of an appliance, spawned this handsome, V6, manual coupe with 200 horses?

Honda City Turbo II (who says short hoods look bad)
Fiat 128 coupe
Original Renault 5

The Mk 1 Ford Ka. Even today after 5 years I mourn my Ka’s passing. Say what you like, it’s just so cuuute... and beat most cars to the other side of an intersection. Beyond that, forget it.

I never realized the original Mini was front wheel drive.. Thank you
Love the Cord.. got to visit a restoration shop some where in Pennsylvania when I was about 12, (early 80’s) and saw 6 in various states of restoration..
