Apparently I need to do a white base coat when plastidipping a lighter color onto a darker color. Wheels are gunmetal. I hate purple. Ugh.

It's not bad if you like purple I guess. according to the cap it should be close to a Ford type of blue.

Honestly, I hate most colors. Probably why my last 7 cars have been either black or silver.

Also, (not sure if true with plastidip, but definitely true with paint) even if the first coat comes out a nice shade of blue, the second coat will still turn out purple because you covered up the lighter undercoat with the first blue coat. So I drove around in a purple car for a few years, should have just left it with one coat.

Hmmmm interesting. First coat didn't seem bright at all. Going to go with the white base and then put the blue on. It showed up blue on a piece of paper I painted.

Don’t know if plastidip is the same, but since you need a brighter base, it may be.

First time Ive ever done it, will probably do my stock wheels at some point, too, since they're silver, like my car. Not a big fan of silver on silver.
