Over the past month or so my friend has been working on a custom push bar for my Ranger. Well, we finished it over the weekend and I got my lights wired up last night, so it’s picture time!
The lights are Hella 500FF, wired to come on with my high beams. They are super bright. The only problem I’m having is a bit of shaking, but I’ll figure that out. I don’t notice the shaking so much as I’m worried about them eventually moving over time. I’m just happy I managed to wire them the way I wanted/needed to (on hi’s with a switch to turn them off) the first time. I’m not an electrician by any means.
Oh and I broke my headlight adjuster so I need to fix that. Oops.

Thank you! He did a fantastic job on the bar. I’m pretty sure I could ram that thing into an Abrams tank and it would be perfectly fine.

Looks good, did you run a relay?
When I put my lights up front I upgraded the harnesses to run 100w bulbs, haven’t gotten around to it because they are plenty bright as is.

Yes, I am using the relay that was pre-wired into the harness that came with the Hellas. They come on only with my hi’s, and I can shut them off when I don’t want them. It’s nice for when I’m far enough away from someone that I can use my (absolutely terrible) high beams but I don’t have to worry about blinding them.
I thought about upgrading the harness, but they are plenty bright as is. They are so bright I get used to their level of light, and I can’t see anything when I have my lows on because I’m not adjusted to the dark. If I do any upgrading I will probably stick with better 55w bulbs.

Driving light eyes...
You can also easily upgrade to the 35w HID bulbs with a bit of drill and epoxy..
700ff on the Forester;
and double 500ff on the Tacoma;
