Viva la LaLD and OPPO! You peeps are the best peeps!!

Ya’ll are the best!!

Today, I am at work from 7-7 like always. Afterwards, I’m sailing driving home to get my house all cleaned up inside and out. Why? Welp, last year, I got “legally” !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . That consisted of a very slight gathering (about 20 friends), food, and a judge from the civil offices that made us sign our marriage certificate. This weekend on the other hand, I am finally having the big show. Lots of foooood, a small religious ceremony, big !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ceremony (ILLUMINATI!!!), mariachis, marimba, a series of grape jam swirled cheesecake wedding cakes with a very Jalop wedding topper, and all that awesomeness. I will report later that night :] I will fly out Friday night after work to Mexico DF and come back Monday close to midnight.

So that’s all. Just working all day and night and getting things ready for this weekend. Hopefully it will stahp raining! We got in 5 Mercedes (all AMG’s), 3 Volvo, and 3 Astons (all Rapides) with flood damage. Busy week :’(

As for your car search, there is still a possibility of a fun car to be reliable and a relible type car to have issues.

And speaking of issues, what is your tolerance. A car could run good and have issues.

Example:

The car starts fine BUT the starter motor goes sound a bit sketchy. Repair or live with it?

The car has new control arms BUT the shocks are leaking slightly. It drives well but for how long. Repair or live with.

The car has cold A/C... BUUUUUT!!!!!! when the compressor engages, the clutch makes a slight noise.

Here is a real life situation

Let’s say you buy the e39 540i or the Acura TL. Let’s say I look at them and I tell you,

“ welp, it is fine right now. It drives good. Might need brakes in about 2 months but they are fine for now. Not 100% sure what that ticking sound is. Could be normal injector noise. Headliner is starting so sag but it’s not too bad right now. We are not sure when the spark plugs replaced. It needs a headlight restoration and wiper blades for sure and a good wash/detail. The tire are...they are ok for now.”

Will you buy it?

That’s a great point you brought up about reliability. I would prefer a reliable fun car. If the said fun car has a few issues, I am prepared to deal with some...

I want to avoid issues with suspension/struts, engine (so VANOS), exhaust, major electrical/wiring and things that would cost $500+ to repair. Or if the diagnosis is a mystery and one of the things wrong could be major.

So in regard to your examples,
