Favorite: Chevrolet. Why? Performance

Favorite: Audi. Honestly, I’m not the biggest Volkswagen fan out there. Why? Batshit craziness, awesome features, awesome engines.

Least favorite: Honda, Toyota, Lexus. Why? Lexus makes ugly cars, Toyota makes boring uninteresting cars and I just don’t like Honda. Also Nissan. I do like Subaru though.

Fav: Lexus. Why? I don’t know.

Least favorite: Nissan. Nothing really is exciting in their lineup (the Z and GT-R are really old now) and their powertrains, though reliable, have nothing innovative.

True. Nissan is kinda in their malaise era right now. They made really likable cars in the 90s and part of the 2000s, but this Renault deal has inspired some bad platforms and engines.

Ok. Now this brings me to something.

Hitler’s role in the Volkswagen Beetle sorta makes me think that he’d be proud they still exist. Which is a really creepy thing to think about.

On another note, BMW built gas chambers And Mercedes made cars for Nazis. SO pretty much all German car makers are at fault for that.

Depends on your definition of performance for BMW. And while Chevy may only have 3 performance cars, I like them enough to rank the brand high

It also depends how you interpret my use of the word performance. Chevy trucks perform well, even if they aren't track day cars.

Least: Nissan. Their cars are hideous, CVTs are garbage and they’re in everything and I still hate the GTR.

I was raised as a Ford guy and I still have a soft spot for them in my heart even though the only Ford I have right now is my boring daily driver. I’m not sure I really hate any brands. Are BMW drivers really worse than brodozer pilots and should either group reflect on the companies that make the vehicles? VW makes some good cars but also made the cars that I hate more than any other, the Beetle and Bus. Should I hate them for cars they produced 40 years ago?

When people say, “My least favorite is XYZ, because they just don’t make as many exciting cars as other companies and they’ve fallen a ways”, that’s fine.

When people say, “I hate XYZ cars because they’re built like shit and they are all overpriced and the drivers are all dumb jerks and they’re built in ABC country and Yadayada car is sooooo much better,” then you have an 12 y/o Youtube commenter on your hands. That’s my least favorite thing about VAG. It’s always lurked in the back of my head and I’ve studied both WWII and the beginnings of Volkswagen. It all just boils down to the cars that they make, rather than their early roots.

Let me try to shed some light on the subject.

I like my Audi because neither it, nor a single person who built or oversaw it, had anything to do with Hitler, and in case nobody told you, WWII has been over for the last 70 years and the US has a strong alliance with Germany when they aren’t busy tapping their phones.

If we were talking Russian cars, you might have a point, but WWII affiliation is hardly great logic in analyzing any country or company, or entire populace of a free country that does a great deal of peacekeeping alongside the US. Wake up dude.
