By law, you are supposed to follow the same rules as a vehicle. That means that you STOP at sign signs like everyone else. I love how he gives me the hand even though I don’t have a stop and have the right of way...

Saw two bicyclists do that yesterday. Luckily the truck in front of me was far enough back for them not to plow into it

I don’t really care if a bike runs a stop sign at a reasonable speed, key here being reasonable, most cars don’t actually stop all the way if it’s not a major crossing.
Edit: That’s clearly not what happened here.

There’s a cyclist in my town now. Two days ago I saw this guy cut off a gas &electric utilities van and hogged the left lane on a two lane avenue. I doubt it went well with the utilities dude.

Yeah, that dude was being a douche. He didn’t even slow down to see if the intersection was clear.
That said, though, I know too many cyclists (law abiding ones) who have been killed, been in accidents, or harassed while out on the roads (myself included) because motorists can be huge dicks, too.
My bike mechanic rides about 40-60 miles every day. He was out on a country road a couple of months ago, riding in the shoulder (legally, he had every right to ride in the actual lane, but he was trying to be polite). It’s a not-very-busy country road with a 30mph speed limit. Dude in an SUV comes barreling down the road doing better than 40, sees my mech and his riding buddy, and veers into the shoulder on purpose. There’s no other traffic on the road besides them. My mech raises his hand in frustration (didn’t flip the guy off, just shook his hand in the air), which the guy saw. He slammed on the brakes, reversed, and tried to hit my mechanic again. Him and his riding buddy were forced off the shoulder and into the grass.
Then there was the rider who regularly organized group rides, and taught other people how to ride, including all the rules about riding legally, who was out for his morning ride with a buddy. They’d go at around 4:30 - 5 a.m. so that there’s less traffic to deal with. Dude got hit by a drunk driver and landed in the bed of the driver’s truck. The driver noticed it, went “meh,” and went off to go eat breakfast. Afterwards, drove with the body still in his truck and tried to dispose of it in an irrigation canal. The man he killed had two young kids.
Cyclists can be dicks. Motorists can be dicks. Hell, even pedestrians can be dicks. But in a competition between a ton of steel and fiberglass versus 200 pounds of steel/aluminum and flesh and bones? The giant hunk of metal wins every time. No matter how much a cyclist (or asshole motorcyclist) pisses you off, remember that.

There are people who ride bikes because they love cycling.
And then there are people who ride bikes because they got their license taken away.
I wonder which group this rider belongs to?

Likewise too many drivers give cyclists priority when they don’t deserve it. I’ll often coast towards stop signs and intersections especially when I see there’s a car already there that needs to cross my path. I do so to a) save energy b) be efficient about things. The driver has plenty of time to make their turn or w/e and then I might not have to come to a full stop at the intersection if the way is clear. But lots of people wait for me to get the intersection and then try to wave me through. NUUH IT’S YOUR TURN CAR, GO!

Being on a bicycle doesn’t make that guy a cyclist. He’s a random, no-shirt-wearing dufus in jeans! He’s probably riding because he lost his license and can’t drive, which means he’s trouble whether he’s on a bike or behind the wheel.

Fair point. I was gonna call him a biker but didn’t want people to think I was calling out motorcyclists...
And in my area that’s more than possible
