Tony Farrell passed away.

Allegedly he tried to calm the drunk guy down. Tony was an awesome driver.
RIP

It’s a shame to lose someone like that. Never met Tony but I heard many great things about him and I always enjoyed watching him drive. He was doing some of his best work when he came out of retirement briefly to pilot the second Grave Digger The Legend. So many thought Grave Digger 12 wasn’t capable of being competitive in the current style of Monster Jam events but he turned many heads and proved many wrong.
Also, you can’t forget the ridiculously awesome Wild Thang which was Tony’s truck back in the mid to late 90’s after he campaigned the Blue Ribbon Bandit. My heart goes out to the Farrell family during this time and best wishes to his son who was also hit.

Wild Thang is actually back out of mothballs competing again.

Yeah I met Doug briefly in Vegas last year. Looks to be a good running piece and it’s cool to see the name back out and running instead of collecting dust in Paul Shafer’s shop.

Now if only he’d do the same for Monster Patrol and Bearfoot. He’s finally let the Carolina Crusher be reborn under Feld with Gary Porter driving to boot.
