Thursday, I had Shake Shack for lunch.
Friday night, BBQ for my cousin’s birthday.
Saturday night, BBQ for a family friend’s kid’s birthday.
Tonight, BBQ at our place for family.
I don’t even think I’ve had 4 burgers in the previous 6 months combined.

And if I counted how many Diet Cokes I've had in the last 2 days... Oh dear god. It's probably somewhere around 18. I have an addiction. Burgers are good, but 4 in one weekend... That's too much.

Yeah well, east coast. So I don’t have In N Out here.

How was it?

agree - in N out > shake shack > 5 guys. If you don’t have in N out just fly over to Vegas - they got ‘em.

Delicious.

I’ve been to In N Out in SF twice a few years ago. Can confirm it’s better than Shake Shack and 5 guys.

Lived in Manhattan since 2001, and still haven’t had a Shake Shack burger. This must be remedied ....

Nibby. That’s a BaByQ not a BBQ.

I grew up in the DC area. Around there, everyone refers to a gathering in someone's back yard where people grill stuff and drink beer as “having a barbecue,” even though there is no low-n-slow smoking of meats going on.
I now live in Wisconsin. Here, people call it “grilling out.” Which is much more accurate.

Couldn't agree more. Grilling and barbecuing are not the same thing at all.

That’s not even the best In-N-Out.

Chicago is getting a shake shack downtown, is it any good?

I love burgers. If I don’t have about one a week I go I to withdrawal. They don’t have to be large, but they have to be of good quality, so nothing less than Jack in the Box if I don’t make it myself. Turkey and pork burgers are acceptable substitutes once in a while.
I balance them out with much vegetation and fruit nowadays, and have entirely eliminated soda from my diet.

Burgers can be BBQ. Marinated, smothered in sauce or rub, drenched in sauce after cooking, there’s so many possibilities. Still get the smoke ring, still get the same flavors.
