This guy. The plan is we work through the stuff we have as slowly and relaxed as we can. It’s 10-4 (but probably more like 3:30 or earlier), so it really isn’t all that bad. But they aren’t paying us anything extra, so that’s a bummer.

Here’s the rear seat of a LWB Range Rover Autobiography. Hell yes I sat in it and reclined like a baller.

I’m not sure how it works in the US, but here in Ontario, Canada, you are required by law to be paid at least time and a half if you’re working on a statutory holiday. Check your local labour laws.

Nah, you can be required to work on holidays as your regular rate unless it says otherwise in your contract.

+1 for what CB said.

That Range Rover interior looks great. When did they start doing big reclining back seats like that?

I hear you, as I’ll be in my office trying to get caught up with several reports before the start of the work week. We’ve been crazy busy, as spring/summer Real Estate season is really ramping up. Everything is a “super rush”, but no one wants to pay “super rush” fees, either.

I’d assume whenever they started doing the LWB version.

Also, there isn’t a law about holiday work. It just consider common courtesy to pay double time for holiday work.

Ain’t a baller until you’re sitting like that in the parking lot, with the window down, and you have a coworker that’s holding a fan blowing your hair like it’s on the freeway and you’re making it rain dolla bills yo.

You don’t even need to do that. This thing goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds at a rate of about 9 mpg.

nice pic - haven’t seen any of those LWBs down here yet.

Well they’ve been doing LWB’s since at least the late 80’s but I’ve never seen seating like that. I’m going to guess it’s just the current generation.

Hmm, I’ve never been paid double time working hourly jobs, but have always been paid time and a half for “major” holidays, in multiple states for multiple employers.

They don’t sell particularly well. Since I’ve been there we’ve only moved about 2. This one is sitting on the showroom, probably because it’s $186,000.

I’ll probably ask my manager if they’re doing anything like that. Then he’ll probably just hand me $40, because he does that occasionally.

And my research looks like they started in ‘14 with this generation.

I’ll bet they sell better in China - culturally its just more acceptable to sit in back there. For my money I’d take the SVR all day, everyday.

Used to be that way. Now its more or less pick and choose holidays for employers.

we got time and a half on Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Day. Thats it.

Most US companies will treat holidays as overtime for hourly employees or will give benefits in kind (compensatory time) for salaried employees.

However, there is no legal requirement for them to do so in the States. The holidays that are in national law are technically only prescribed for federal employees, and to which they are paid for the holiday.

It all depends on the employer’s policy book. Most will give workers who are working on holiday calendar days time and a half, but that’s their specific policy.

My company will do compensatory time for exempt employees and time and a half for non-exempt employees.

Is that by doing 50 in second gear? (I don’t know if that’s actually possible, 50 in second)
