TAX? I know KBB is only good for rough estimates and that the market can be more, but when you look that car up it is worth $1700+, which would make that salvage an $800 car. So I would say a 375% difference in price is more than a tax.

Drift tax. Sellers demanding a price premium because of the cars popularity within the drifting community and the consequent high percentage of modified/wrecked ones. Very common with S13s and S14s.

Granted there are also incredibly stupid people who massively overvalue their shitboxes because they were too lazy too look up actual market prices and/or are just greedy as fuck and think they can screw someone over and make some quick cash.
