Let’s start off with this: I believe cars are meant for personal expressions in whichever way a person may choose to do so. The way I go about this is by trying things on my car that I’ve never done before.. To date that includes numerous repairs, seeing if Walmart glow in the dark paint will work on a car(technically yes but it isn’t noticeable except for the greenish white color), some duplicator metalspeck paint(worked surprisingly well, I would recommend it), bright green vinyl wrap(this and the other stuff is on the taurus side molding), installing a new deckled(with SHO wing), bright green calipers on the front of my car and now this. The beautiful 1998 Ford Taurus SE is receiving matte Sublime Green go faster stripes. I want people to have the same response to my car as they do me, look say what the hell shake their head and walk away.
Update:
No matter how horrible they look to you guys they look at least 10x worse in person. I will be leaving them on for at least a week. Class up the last day of Senior PGA action in town.

For glow in the dark stuff, you should check to strontium aluminate. It supposedly glows amazingly well.

And then we discover that you’re really just a nice guy right? :)

Lime green brake calipers actually sounds kinda cool. And isn’t an out-there idea.
You do you, dude.

The older I get, the more I say, “Screw it, do whatever you want to your car if it makes you happy and doesn’t endanger the lives of others.”
So to you, sir, I say, paint that son of a bitch as green as your heart desires. I will, as instructed, look, say what the hell, shake my head and walk away. But I won’t stop you.

Or just use plastidip and get the look you want without sacrificing what’s underneath. Check out what the dipyourcar.com guys have been doing lately, it’s frankly amazing some of the finishes they can achieve.

For the most part. I'm only an asshole at times to people I know. Never randoms. Come on, I'm customizing a Taurus.

I looked into a few different things. They were all at price points where I would have to be serious about doing it instead of just thinking “Hey, that seems cool.”

Awesome :) Give us pictures when done.

I blame fFlipping Vegas, I was binging on that show and all of their white Porsches have bright green calipers. Around the same time one of mine went out so I bought VHT and did it.

It's essentially the same as plastidip but duplicolor branded.

The endanger others part should be the basis of all mods. If it does indeed endanger others that's where a line must be drawn, that's my only dig with the stanced crowd.

Will do, the hood is nearly done. But on the roof I'm finding out I did too many layers on the hood and I'm running out of paint.

Oh cool, I thought it was more paintlike. Wonder how nicely it goes on and lasts.

In my opinion it went down terribly. It says it's not necessary to mask of. Well I want to make nice stripes so I had to. The suggestion isn't about ease of use but out of necessity. I had to use a straight edge so I could pull the tape up. The can also like to sputter and splotch a bit much. I wonder if plastidip would have been better. One other thing, it's definitely not sublime green.

It’s not to difficult to do stripes and other mask off techniques with dip, the key is removing the tape quickly after the last coat while it’s still a bit wet. IIRC they have a blaze green that’s close to that diplicolor color.

At first I tried to rip but the paint wanted to pull. Normally I like duplicolor products but this isn't one I will use again. I should have went with tried and true plastidip.

World needs more green stripes on cars. I see no problems here.

The largest problem here is that I’ve discovered that this is a terrible product and no matter if you use amazing masking tape or cheap stuff it’s going to ruin it. The instructions say it isn’t necessary, it should say they strongly recommend against it. Even though in the video on their site they did.

When I was little, my dream car was a white Jeep Cherokee with green racing stripes, a body kit, and a huge wing.
I had no taste.

Interesting idea. If it’s one of the ones worth next to nothing and the stuff is cheap to attain I say do it. Doing this pointless stuff to my car and knowing I’m not lowering its value is an amazing feeling.
