Just posted on Motor Trend, the ATS-V is supposedly going to have a V8 variant that uses the 7.0L LS7 from the Camaro Z/28. Go read the article for more info.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a V8 in the ATS but I don’t think it’ll be that LS7. With the new Camaro and Corvette GM has moved (almost?) completely to the LT series of V8s. I believe the LT1 in the new Camaro SS (which shares its basic platform with the SS) to be a more natural fit.

Now that Merc have calmed down I’ve been banking on Jag for a batshit insane small saloon car so I’m in favour of this even if Cadillac won’t bring it over. We need more chaos in small packages.

the ATS-V+. the regular V has a TT 3.6
I’d rather it be Z/28 exclusive.

Yeah I have a feeling it will be the LT1 just like in the Vette. According to these guys though it will have the LS7 and they're usually credible so I guess we'll have to wait.

That's why I said V8 variant. I'd rather them put the LS7 in the ATS as well because it will be lighter than the 3.6TT and it has more power.

This seems too good to be true. I hope it isn’t though.

It's hard to say, Motor Trend is pretty credible when it comes to GM cars.
