How’d you lose your old one? (He asked, having lost one himself mid-rally)

One race weekend I had it, the next I couldn’t find it. I think I actually left it in a car I sold..

Curious if any of you guys know, but I have autocrossed a couple of times and I am tired of using the loaner helmets that can be at times quite... we will say worn. I understand they have to meet certain specifications, but I have no idea which brands are good to go with, quality, etc. The one pictured here looks like the style I’d be interested in, a simple design, doesnt really have to have a visor though

SA2010 (a standard put forth by snell) is the current standard, about to be replaced by SA2015. As you can guess the standard before (SA2005) is mostly no longer accepted. SA2010 helmets will be accepted for a long time. This one ran me $179 shipped from safe racer: http://www.saferacer.com/racequip-sport… but our club stocks open face helmets like this: http://www.amazon.com/RaceQuip-25211… to lend to members. We clean them regularly though, so perhaps that’s why most in our club don’t own helmets.

Cool, Ill have to take note at the next event of which helmet size fits my head best. I’m probably a medium. Thanks

You can also measure your head with a measuring tape, right where a hat would sit. Then most manufacturers put size tables in their listings.

Some even have hat size -> helmet size charts.
