This is damn apple juice with some alcohol mixed in! That being said, It’s a decent hard cider but still, I was told beer, not alcoholic apple juice!

The best hard cider I’ve ever had is still good old Woodchuck Amber.

I’ve always been a fan of Angry Orchard myself.

At the very least i would’ve gone with a bold rock cider. But then again, i live in a part of the country where we are spoiled for choice when it comes to cider selection. Thanks Virginia!

My favorite cider is Bantam , I’m pretty new to the cider world. But the flavors are complex and wonderful. They are a small brewery (cidery?) in Cambridge.

The difference between these guys and something like angryorchard was like going from harpoon ipa to dogfishhead 90.

It’s going good! Though we don’t have any furniture minus our beds. But hey! Eating while standing up is supposed to help digestion!

I hate that these are being advertised as beer. There is nothing wrong with a cider. That being said, its probably considered more "manly" to drink an apple ale than a cider. I tried Smith and Forge a few months back out of curiosity. It probably would be good on a hot day, but it really tasted like apple juice to me. Not cider, apple juice.

Some ciders are beer based, others are fermented apple juice based.

Technically, all cider’s are apple juice based. Beer is made using a more complex process.

I swear I’ve read the ingredients on some ciders, and it says beer was an ingredient. I think Strongbow and Growers were ones like that. Somersby says fermented apple juice on it.

Strictly technically speaking, if it contains beer, its not a cider. Cider is fermented apple juice. Strongbow is a cider, don't know about the other.

That makes sense. So it would just be apple flavoured beer basically? I prefer the real ciders.

Basically. Look for the phrase "malt beverage". Basically they make a cheap beer then add flavors to it. Its how the bud limaritas and ilk are made, along with wine coolers, and basically any other drink with non-beer flavors.
