5 Hours. Lotus Warranty gives 4.

Warranty gives 4 hours - not sure of the rate. Clutch parts cost $2,500, sell them for 4 grand. Total cost of job = $4,500 to $5 grand? Do I win?

One weekend and two suitcases of (good) beer at the least

Warranty gives nothing because they still don't recognize my driveway as a certified shop

Take the cost of replacement of a V6 Camry clutch..

...and multiply by 10, because it’s an “exotic”

Jesus christ Ford pays less for a complete 6.0 diesel rebuild, let along full on replacement (which is what they usually did). I use a 6.0 because 6.7 are usually less and 6.4 were about the same. Ford only pays ~20ish, depends on a lot of stuff though, can usually claim m-time for spun cab bolts/nuts etc etc.

I bet ya’ll did a lot of the 6.0’s in the early days lol. At Lexus, we got 8 hour to valve springs and i thing 12 for piston rings (recalls). After a while, you could do them in your sleep Lol. The Evora on the other hand is pure hell. It is a complete and total tear down on the rear of the car

Kinja'd!!! EL_ULY > CRider
05/20/2015 at 21:33

Kinja'd!!!0

It take 2 guys just to take apart the rear “clam”. By the end, it ends up looking like a pick up truck with the rear truck bed removed only showing the frame. Absolute and complete tear down of the rear half of the vehicle

Figured it was a almost compete rear end disassembly, hence why I used the cab lifting 6.0. After so many though, like you said its a cake walk. The warranty pay is still a joke though.

I saw, basically have to tear down the rear half of the vehicle and pull the motor.

And the moral of the story is: for $85k buy anything but an Evora.

the rear section is 100% removed down to the frame unlike a Boxster or 911 that the engine gets dropped but the body is still there.
