Over the past year, I’ve been lucky enough to drive some of the coolest cars on the planet and live out my boyhood dreams. I drove a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which was once a poster hanging on my bedroom wall, I drove an honest to god supercar when McLaren dropped off a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and the absolutely incredible !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’ve been a kid in a candy shop that’s spent the last ten years on kale island.

However, none have been more iconic and more steeped in automotive history than the original Acura NSX that was delivered last week.

Whether you know the NSX from how it took the fight to Ferrari, or the fact that Ayrton Senna helped engineer the car, the NSX is known throughout the world as a world class supercar. However, it’s been ten years since the NSX was produced, how would the car hold up during that time? Would it be terrible? Will it drive like a bus? These are the questions that plagued my sleep the night before I got the keys. I was terrified.

Luckily, my fears were unsubstantiated. While the interior of the car is extremely ten years old, seriously, it still had a tape player, the car itself was perfect. It may not be all the fast, or handle like a modern supercar, but the way it involves the driver in everything that’s going on is absolutely perfect. The steering is direct and engaging, the shifter dare I say feels like a bolt action rifle, and the howl the emanates from the engine when revving it past 6,000 rpm is sublime.

My time with the car was all too short, but in that brief period I absolutely fell in love with it. When Acura came to pick it up, I had a serious thought of just hiding it around the block and saying that it was stolen! The NSX is a blast from the past, but it’s still a car that feels very modern, which brings me to be terrified once again.

The original NSX was so good that it stood the test of time. The new NSX is coming out later this year, it’s full of electronic wizardry, AWD, and turbos, it’s the exact opposite of what made the original so good. Will it be an NSX, or will it just be an NSX in name alone. We’ve got a few months till we are able to assess that, so in the meantime, here’s a quick teaser of the NSX video that will be up on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! soon.

Haha, everything was cock eyed on this shoot. The car wasn’t level, the camera wasn’t level, I wasn’t level. I should have caught that though.
