I love the name of this Lincoln. Cosmopolitan. They need to resurrect the name for their new cars.

Relaunching focused on a convertible version seems best - even if they relaunched a terrible convertible, people would buy it. People buy Sebrings, after all - there’s a market for big, comfortable convertibles even if they’re crap.

I was just looking for pictures of the ‘49 Packard and found an interesting tidbit - Truman rode to his inauguration in a ‘49 Lincoln Cosmopolitan convertible, while Dewey went to a number of events in a ‘49 Packard one.

I would love to see a rebirth of the big American luxury cruiser. You are right Lincoln does need to take a risk like that.

That is strange. Dewey must have had strong preference. I thought the White House was in contract with Lincoln at the time for rides.

Dewey was running against Truman, and lost. The Packard was something he was driven in while campaigning.
