It’s rare that I see a movie that I would make no alterations to, it’s totally worth it. You don’t want to be “that person” who never saw it in theaters and missed the experience. Catch a matinee or something, or go with your friends. It’s not just a good car movie, it’s a good movie regardless. It even had a Nissan S30! You could see it in the canyon scene on the trailer.
From a cinephile’s standpoint, it’s a masterpiece of cinematography and practical effects. If someone asked me “What is cinematography?” I’d point at this movie and say “It’s the difference between this, and every other film you’ve watched.” There is an extreme precision in the way each shot is composed and no corners were cut in making sure no scene was lacking in a rich, immaculate color balance. I thought I’d be bored, thinking it would just be explosions and screaming against a washed-out “overly orange” background, but the breadth of the movie’s visual display is staggering.

It *is* on my list, if for no other reason than practical effects on that scale need to be rewarded.

Now if only my local IMAX would show it instead of Avengers so I can see it again as it was meant to be seen

I never see any movies and don’t care to see this one I think. Already this year I watched 4 movies (although 2 I had seen already). That’s more movies than I watched all of last year.
I’d better stop. I have a reputation of never seeing any movies to uphold!
It’s summer I am done with staying inside anyways.

It’s one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen, and the most important car movie of the 20th century .
I really want to see it again.

It was meant to be seen in 2D. Skip the IMAX and find a good 4K 2D show.

Two questions:
1. Where, if that’s the truck they’re using, do they get brand new tyres and,
2. What movie are we discussing?

It’s post-apocalypse , find it, take it.
Mad max I thinks.

Mad Max: Fury Road. The interesting thing about Mad Max series is that it’s not that far removed from daily life, it’s just a massive anarcho-state breakdown in a region that has tons and tons of space. Theoretically, tires could be arriving (albeit in small quantities) from places outside of the war-torn australia, and they’re slowly making their way (and repaired often) to the outback when needed.

My kids are always telling me to shut up when we watch a movie.

I’m not sure they could hear you over this one.

Actually, I appreciate the explanation. Makes the whole thing slightly more plausible, though I’m not very likely to watch it. I just don’t enjoy carnage.

It’s got a good sociopolitical and feminist commentary to it, but yes, a lot of it is explosive gearhead violence.
