I actually have a video of my door chime on hand. There is something wrong with the spring in the ignition cylinder. This is me trying to trouble shoot it:

Trust me it is a pain in the ass, and the video doesnt show this well, but my chime is incredibly loud. Id rather have the focus one if its gonna be loud, at least it tries to be melodic

If you’re looking for melodic, the BMW chime is a lot better than Ford’s.

That sucks that your’s wont turn off, I quite liked mine when I had my Ranger. Actually, I thought of it the moment I saw this thread, so it’s funny that you’d post yours.

P.S. Back when I still bought CDs and popped them into the truck before I left the music store’s parking lot, I had my Ranger and bought QOTSA’s Songs for the Deaf. Started the truck up *bong bong bong*, then the CD started playing:

I have to hear this basically daily... Agh. Whenever a new Ford is on the lot, (which is almost always) I have to be bombarded with this noise. Mini’s “DoodaDooda” on the other hand is pretty good.

Their current one, the tone is a little more melodic than other cars.

Personally I like chryslers chime the best because you can barely hear it

I have a lot of issues with it. I think the rear visibility is horrendous; the interior feels dark and cramped because everything is black on black on black; it’s really not that great on fuel; and it feels quite cheap, even compared to the Jetta.

We've had quite a few problems with it and they're all stupid things such as the car not shifting out of park.

Gotcha, my ex had a Focus, I never particularly liked it either. It was also plagued by dumbass issues it should not have had.

Yeah they’re not that great, we have the Titanium trim which is second from the top (which is the ST). There’s also this hype on here about the FoST but at the end of the day it’s really not that good of a car because it’s still a Focus.

Mine does the same thing! It sometimes turns off if I stick the key partway back in and wiggle it.

There are ways to disable it, but I’m not sure if it can actually be fixed.

Maybe it can be fixed with a new ignition cylinder, Im not replacing it though. Its not worth it
