I got a thing!

2015 GTI S with the Performance Package and Lighting Package in Carbon Steel Gray Metallic. I was told it’s a GTI only color this year... who knows? Manwell of course. On my second tank of gas and man am I stoked I waited for this one.

More fun than sailboat filled with beer, fish tacos, and a bunch of Aussie water polo player girls on holiday.

In all honesty the whole car is so driver focused and sharp I can’t believe it’s a VW. I still haven’t broken it in yet so I can’t say how it is at the limit. It does own the drive thru at In N Out like a boss though.

I haven’t. The article I posted under was titled with “overhyped” and so it’s more about what I am tired of reading about rather than what I actually think of the car on its own (and I’m sure it drives pretty great), but it does get old reading about how much better the Ford twins drive and all and then, in the very same articles, reading about the GTI winning the “best car of the year” award with the justification being that it’s fun but not too fun. Like, what?

That said, I do really, really like the inside of the GTI. I wish they’d give it to the GLI, because I’m not actually a fan of the hatchback aesthetic.
