UPDATED!

So my dad just pulled a rookie mechanic mistake of looking his keys in the trunk of his car. The car: 1997 Mercedes s420 with optional dead battery. The rest of the car was unlocked by him manually unlocking each door (base model Toyota Corolla style) after he found a door that looked closed but wasn’t.

So how do we get the trunk open to replace the battery, get the keys, and save the princess?

Update: So I fixed it, got the keys and found out that the princess was in another damn castle.

I assume the trunk release is electric rather than a cable?

They do not and it is impossible to remove without breaking something expensive without an assembly manual.

It is electric over vacuum actuated over mechanical lock.

So no battery means no boot release...

Got any locksmiths in your area?
