What car doesn’t receive as much attention as it deserves?
I think the CTS doesn’t get enough attention, specifically the V-Sport. It looks great, has impressive build quality, more precise handling than the German trio, is surprisingly fast and it can be had for a bit cheaper than the competition.
What else doesn’t get as much attention as it should?

Anything decent from a manufacturer out of business.
I see a significant lack of Oldsmobiles, Studebakers, Packards, etc.

Because it’s a Cadillac and the lamestream media has a anti-Cadillac bias.
It's okay though, homie. People like you and me know what's up.

It’s amazing, my friends in Tulsa (two International students) are completely in love with the car and one of them was about to pick one up too this Fall. Then we sat in one at the Tulsa Car Show, the back is really cramped, the roof is really low for a sedan. It felt cramped and for $65,000, even the build quality inside a C-Class is better. He ended up getting a Fusion Titanium.
Me though, I still LOVE this car, it’s just, so small on the inside.

I think the Hyundai Genesis sedan needs more attention. Although I prefer the older 5.0 R-Spec.

Speaking from a non-biased standpoint. (not really)

Yeah the back seat is fairly cramped compared to competition, same with the ATS. But really, how much do people actually carry people in the back on a regular basis. Also, a C-class can be run up to $65,000 so really you still get more car for the money.
I would still buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.

Maybe we’d give it more attention if it weren’t raining.

Media has an anti-GM bias all together it seems with exception of the Corvette which will rip your face off if you try to talk bad about it.
You’re right though, only a select few know just how good it really is.

The previous Genesis sedan didn’t get enough attention either. Sad because they’re both very nice cars. Their V8 is a pretty good engine to.

I think this car is pretty cool, even if I just learned what it is a couple weeks ago.

The Kia Forte.
You can get a Forte Koup or Hatch with 1.6L turbo and a manual, yet you never hear about it.
I still want to test drive one

I forgot this thing exists.
I will probably forget again when I navigate away from this page.

I drove the Forte5 SX which has the 1.6T and manual! You won’t be disappointed, it’s actually a very competent car.

Don’t worry. The only reason why I remember them is because my dad had one. Other than that they look forgettable.

Oh wow! I forgot those cars even existed!

I was going to choose this car before the CTS. It definitely doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Would take one over the 2015 Charger R/T and 392.

Oh yeah, especially with Magnetic ride and a manual.
And as far as the V sport cars. I think GM should up the marketing on those cars. They are magnificent. I bet nobody outside of car enthusiast know they exsist. But everybody knows about ecoboost.

The cts vsport actually has been getting tons of attention, i would be surprised if its not a magazine “best” this year.

If you want to talk about cool cars that dont get any attention, how about the ecoboost flex...admit it that you forgot that ford still made an awd twin turbo wagon.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:04 |

I agree. Everyone knows about EcoBoost because they market the shit out of them especially with commercials that stand out (referring to the new ones with those catchy songs).

That would be cool, I personally think it deserves it.

For me, the new gen doesn’t do it for me. It barely fills the shoes of the V2.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:08 |

Does it deserve attention? Absolutely yes! Do I think it’s hideous? Absolutely yes!
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:09 |

Haha ya right, I want a Flex EcoBoost in my fleet of cars.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:10 |

How do you figure that?
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:13 |
|
For one, I don’t see it entering into any form of motorsport and I really appreciated that about the last gen. Also it came with a manual and three different body options. And it still had the LSA, magnetic ride, etc. It may have made headway in other areas like the interior, efficiency, and comfort but those aspects bore me.

Actually tried to convince the wife to get a Flex EB but she had to be lame and got a Focus hatch instead.

What is it?
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:16 |

True but unlike us folks on Oppo, most people don’t care about that kind of stuff if it doesn’t come with ultra luxury and comfort.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:19 |

Yeah I feel like Cadillac kinda backed themselves into a corner. The ATS is like the old CTS. Then there’s the new CTS, the XTS, and the coming CT6. Don't understand the need to sell 3 different full size sedans.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:25 |
|
They aren’t all the same size though. The ATS is the size of 3/C/A4, CTS is size of 5/E/A6, CT6 is size of the SWB 7/S/A8. XTS doesn’t compete with any of them because it’s a FWD barge which is on its way out in a few years.

Oh shit! Forgot that that thing even existed!

Thought that got discontinued because it didn't sell. Overpaying for an economy car /= sense.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:50 |
|
You do realize that there’s a big difference between the V and the V-Sport right?
![]() 05/18/2015 at 22:53 |

It didn’t sell because Lexus sucked at marketing. Instead of pitching it towards successful techy young people they marketed it towards environmentalists. And that’s why it failed.

I convinced the wife to get a Flex last year, a '14 Limited (loaded with the Appearance Package), but alas, no EcoBoost. *le sigh* That's okay; I'm still completely in love with it. It's probably better that way as it's her car and if it were the turbo, I'd constantly be tinkering with it and dumping money into making it quicker. This just leaves me with more money for my toys I guess.
![]() 05/18/2015 at 23:02 |

I wish I convinced my wife to get one. When I suggested it, all I got was “that ugly fucking thing? Ya right”
Probably for the better though, I would always be out hooning if we had an EB Flex.

I thought they had a car for techy young people?
![]() 05/18/2015 at 23:14 |

It has no form of tech whatsoever. A CT with parking sensors and radar cruise control basically never comes to dealers. And trust me, the CTs they do sell are crap.
The HS…that was high-tech at the time. LKAS for a compact sedan at that time was amazing.

A buddy of mine has a ‘13 Flex EcoBoost, and while it’s certainly quicker than ours, it doesn’t FEEL as much quicker as its additional power/torque numbers would suggest. I’m not sure if that’s due to the added weight of the AWD system and all the turbo parts and plumbing or what. Basically, I don’t find the power in ours lacking, but then I don’t drive it hard that often either (just not the car’s forte).
She also thought they were ugly when I first tried suggesting them to her years ago, but once she browsed one at an auto show, she fell in love. We were simply blown away by how much space there was in every row, and by how ridiculously comfortable all the seats were. I've yet to experience a more comfortable car during long drives.

Lane keep on a prius?!
Sorry thats as long as I could fake my excitement for. But I was trying to say at least they tried with the CT’s marketing.

That’s weird that it doesn’t feel that much faster. It probably does have a lot of extra weight added on. The explorer on the other hand, there is a serious acceleration improvement between the N/A V6 and the 3.5 EB.
I was blown away by how much space the Flex has inside as well. I couldn’t believe that I (5’11”) could fit in the very back of it.

It really is a great performance car, just has an ugly face.
