I totally get this. This poor guy/gal just dropped sixty grand on a brand new 2015 Camaro ZL1. It looks good, sounds good, and goes fast. Okay, so it’s not a Hellcat, but 580hp is close to enough. What the dealer failed to tell them about was the horrendous visibility from inside the Camaro, and now they can’t even see out well enough to put their brand-new baby between the lines. Oops.
Earlier today there was this guy. No idea what his excuse was, although I like the fact that his car has a mask to hide its face in shame. You can’t see the line, which is because there is a Suburban perfectly positioned on top of it. Ray Charles must be giving out parking lessons with the purchase of every new Chevy.

Please be sarcasm on the ZL1.

There’s a fifth gen RS at my office with a similar problem. Damn car salesmen.

Nope, it really is a ZL1 ;)

I can’t be the only person that parks next to these people regardless.

Every time a Jalop complains about visibility in a new Camaro, I want to give them directions to the nearest eye doctor. It’s like buying an Exige and complaining there’s no backseats or not enough headroom or that there isn’t an umbrella stashed away in the door.

If there hadn’t been other spaces I might’ve.

I’ve sat in one them numerous times, and driven one once, briefly. It is possible to make visual contact with the outside would, if that’s what you’re saying. Just not as much contact as with any other car.

RIGHT?!
Real Jalops can find a way to drive anything:
It’s like all these car guys turn into a bunch of “I-can’t-see-ninny-muffins” about driving a performance car...

This is why we have mandated back up cameras, people are literally forgetting how to drive cars.

It’s not like it would stop me from buying one. But a backup camera is supposed to be an assistant, not what you rely on solely. I don’t think the rear visibility is that big of a deal, but it’s certainly not really defensible.

Probably the same group of people that will call you out if you said midget instead of dwarf. Not to mention it’s exaggerated a hundred-fold on the internet.

Well most new Chevy’s come with
Stupid Distractions
Text Response, which gives you a
LIST
of possible replies. This could explain the poor parking and or future driving on the wrong side of the road, that and in car WiFi.

It depends if I like my car or not. If I’m driving a car that I don’t care if it’s dented, and there are no other spaces, you bet your ass I’m parking there

I had to pull one out of our shop because the tech was too afraid because of the visibility issues.... since I had driven a windowless panel van for years I was used to spatial awareness and know how to use a mirror and whatnot. No problems on my part, and he let me romp on it a bit. Not sure if that driveline lash got fixed under warranty or not. It didn’t last on our used lot very long.

Little off topic but I never really liked the front fascia on the pre-facelift 5th gen. The ZL1 can pull it off but the regular Camaro’s looks so much better with the squinty look IMHO.

You think those have bad visibility? Try a 370z. It’s like riding a blind spot with wheels lol. I literally have to look outside the rear hatch every time I switch lanes since the pillars are just so badly placed, and the hatch is tiny and mostly covered by the spoiler. Yeah.... its kind of annoying at times. Camaros have 50% more visibility, yet you doing hear many ppl complaining about the Z :)

The Camaro convertible has the worst rear visibility ever haha.
I drove a brand new ‘14 RS Vert a couple months ago and holy shit it’s one big blind spot. It rivals the Evoque and SRX.

Ok so I used to work at a GM dealer as a detailer then promoted to parts counter. When i was working as a detailer I got to drive a bunch of camaro’s around the lot and i could not believe how bad the visibility was in those! Not to mention that im 6ft tall and my head rubs on the roof. But yeah, being inside is like driving a tank and the rearward visibility is almost non exsistant. Ive got a 72 Cutlass and 84 Regal & even with their tiny mirrors I feel like the blind spots are non exsistant compared to the binders that are the Camaro’s B-pillars

Fifty percent more than zero is zero. But it’s good: new cars are stronger, right?
They can get rid of the glass altogether and we can use digital displays instead.

Zero visibility would mean I stick my head out the window in order to drive. Or even worse, there would be no window to stick my head out through. So even if it was 50% of 1 that is a win. Don’t play the logic game with me ;)
Yeah to be honest I don’t mind as much because I do have a rear camera, which is the only reason I can park decently considering it is impossible to tell where the rear ends, and the long hood with the addition of the splitter from the nismo make it so hard to guess where it ends. It’s not a complaint, rather a feature in my eyes since it takes more skill to park and drive the thing. But seriously... how sweet would it be to have all displays? I feel like there was a Mythbusters episode where they darkened the windshield and used displays to drive a truck or something of the sort. I personally have seen neat systems in things like the Accord where whenever you turn your blinker on it automatically switches the display to the corresponding camera on the mirror to help you see blind spots. Its neat.

Well, I suppose. When all of the cars that have actual windows have been crushed, then the car you imagine here will be available on the used/thrashed market, and I’ll wind up driving one. If I haven’t been crushed myself by then...
