My God that thing is HUUUUGE. I had no idea it was
that
big. Especially next to our regular Renaults and Citroens...
This is not my pic, no SR20 unfortunately. But it was an ex-cop car, black with white doors. Had sheriff logos on the side, I dunno if those are original or applied here. Im guessing they were applied later because as far as I know your police take off the decals before auctioning it. Also had a pushbar at the front and a folded up spotlight. Sounded kinda quiet, but still nice.
Even during my 10 seconds of looking at it speed by I could tell it was boaty and wallowy.
I now want it even more.

The advantage of the panther is that is can be fixed with a hammer and they cost pennies. Both of those go out the window in Europe and instead you’re just left with a boat of a vehicle. If you
really
want one, they can be picked up here for anything from “practically free” to a few grand depending on the condition.

I saw the title and was like, “Where do you live that you’ve never seen a Crown Vic?” Then I was like, “Oh, duh, Europe.” Moral of the story: don’t read a post until you’ve had your first coffee.
And yes, those decals were applied after it was retired, as the markings are removed (often badly). But I suppose the current owner has nothing to worry about: nobody will mistake a Black and White Crown Vic with a sherrif’s badge for a Eurocop.

Did someone import the Crown Vic into Croatia as a personal vehicle? That is going to be expensive to fill up. I have sent a few cars over to Croatia and Bosnia via Ploce and the import process is actually not that bad or expensive if you can get along with the port workers

I drive an old police Crown Vic - yes, it is huge. I’ve parked next to trucks that are shorter. It’s a solid foot longer than my friend’s parent’s e38 740iL. Parking and generally navigating in tight areas is not easy.
That said, for what it is (and as cheap as you can get them here) it’s a pretty fun car. Plus, when you get on the highway, everyone gets out of the way.

What’s surprising to me (I see these every day) is how much bigger its replacement is. The Taurus-based “Interceptor Sedan” has a huge ass compared to the Crown Vic.

You don’t have stretched ones? I occasionally see them in use for school graduation events and so on. Tacky as all hell but some like that kind of thing.

Jezus that really is a huge butt.

It’s taller, but the Crown Vic takes up more space.

Yes I think I saw that exact one on our version of Craigslist a few years ago.
It was around 22 000 kuna, which would be around 3000 dollars.
Surprisingly
cheap for such a rare and exotic car. The owner must have had a tough time selling it since it was so cheap...

...or everyone slows down to five under.

Yep. The Vic is still a bit wider, longer, heavier, and has a longer wheelbase.

Pfff, forget that puny Taurus. Seattle PD is going straight from crown vic’s to explorers.

They aren’t that boaty and wallowy. They ride pretty harsh actually.
