You find mayo under your oil cap.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Then you check your coolant levels and realise all is okay.

My 1999.5 Golf MkIV with the AEG always makes a little of that under the oil cap in the winter. Something about it not heating up in the winter on shorter trips to burn of moisture in either blow by or EGR. Synthetic helps a little. No real impact on the oil in the pan.

Yeah it’s common on cars that only do short journeys (my average is something like 2 miles) and live in a colder place. From what I understand as long as the oil on the dipstick is nice and clean and coolant level is good it’s fine.

You sir are a genius, I’ll never check my fluids again.

(I actually check them all weekly whether I’ve driven it much or not because OCD.)

I service my own cars so I’d notice them anyway. My last car started drinking oil (severe turbo and probable engine failure) so I got used to checking it a lot.

yep turbo issues will do that.

as i never service my own car , guys at where i work do it , i have no need to check.

i do 30,000km per year , so it gets a service every 6 months roughly.

My interval is 17’500 miles or 2 years. I do next to no mileage and it was just serviced so it isn’t due for a long while. I would never leave it till 17’500 to service though, more like 10’000.
