And sometimes I think I’m the only one. Everyone else thinks this thing is such a beauty, but in person it looks like an potatoe with an aero kit and a Gilette strapped to the front.

Doesn’t look bad.
Doesn’t look that great either...

Think about how far we’ve come.

You’re blind. You should probably get whatever is preventing you from being able to judge beauty corrected.
The fusion is pretty from almost every angle. The front? It’s got that sexy Aston grill, headlights be on point, and even the hood ridges are working for it. From the side, it’s long hood short trunk goodness with just enough sculpting to the side panels to make it appear sporty but not enough to be ridiculous. The interior is gorgeous, especially on the leather filled titanium trim.
The only angle that’s not so good is the back, but honestly it’s not like people care that much about the back of a car.

You are not alone my friend. I hate this car, everything about it pisses me off, especially the front with it's faux Aston grille that thinks it's sophisticated when it's not. This car is not only butt-ugly, but it's also pretentiously butt-ugly.

It barks louder than it can bite. It looks overdesigned imo, It could use a larger engine other than the EcoBoost options in it. This comes from someone who details them daily.

Everyone else thinks this thing is such a beauty
That’s because it’s hard to see when YOU’RE SUCKING FORD’S DICK, OPPO

You shut your whore mouth . Your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad.
I’m kidding, of course haha they took a loooooong time to grow on me, but I think they’re great looking cars now.

Best way to describe it! I guess I’m just not that big into catfish! Or Astons for that matter...

I don’t see the design aging any better. Its already starting to resemble the old jelly bean Taurus IMO.

And Mazda.

So true! I love how Ford is the new enthusiast savior when it’s just doing what VW had done for ages...

This. 1000x that.
Hondabro knows what’s up!

I don’t see it ever growing on me. Mainly because they’re 75% blending in with everything else in the road, while still 25% over-wrought trying to get any attention it can.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 23:56 |

I’d agree on the aging, but I don’t see the Jellybean in it, or at least yet.

I kind of think most sedans are unattractive.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 23:58 |

That’s fair. To each his own. I hated it at first cause Ford blatantly ripped off the Aston grille, but seeing them around in person, it seemed to stand out in an ocean of beige cars and that’s why I find them attractive now.

They’re hard to get right, especially with a short-nose transverse engine design.

I’m just not liking the melting jellybean trends that seem to still be gaining ground.

Even I, someone who is very anti-Ford, thinks you’re insane. The Fusion is downright hot, and shockingly fun to drive, especially with the 2.0T. I try to steal the keys to my mom’s as often as possible.

Everybody is running about blabbing abou how “beautiful” it is. I don't really care for it, just another Ford. That's it. Nobody seems to know what an opinion is without name calling.
![]() 05/17/2015 at 00:19 |

Just because it has the “Aston grill” doesnt make it good looking anymore. I will give it that its not just a “BOLD” midsize (i think toyota confused bold for boring). It feels a bit too big for its stance but this is coming from a guy who thinks the Accord is still the best in the group.
You want a sedan that looks good form every angle and doesnt get talked enough about? the new Impala
![]() 05/17/2015 at 00:23 |

The first time you see it: Wow!
Tenth time: Yeah. Alright, Ford.
100th: Meh. Not bad.
1000th: Seriously, again?!
And that was just the first month it was sold.
![]() 05/17/2015 at 00:30 |

You’re kidding right?
The impala isn’t ugly, but it doesn’t stand out enough to be beautiful.
There are some very nice looking cars in the segment. Mazda makes some nice ones. Kia and Hyundai are putting in work. But Chevy? Just kinda phoning it in.
Here’s the thing, the first time I saw the new Fusion, I had to check the badge to verify that it was a Ford. And I’ve had the same awestruck reaction from everyone else who’s seen it. Especially the non enthusiasts. The Impala? Nobody is particularly surprised by it. It’s a just not shitty Impala.
![]() 05/17/2015 at 00:32 |

Well, to do it right, you have to commit to it. The CLS is beautiful because it says “fuck your headroom, I’m fabulous!” but all the normal sedans are throwing a wig on a bar of soap and calling it design.

Well, I’m the “enemy”, remember? My opinion is invalid because of my job.

I must be broken. I never had that first one :(
Actually I did say wow the first time. But it was followed by a “really?”

The new Impale is beautiful. I wish they find a way to make an SS. Basically they need to use the XTS V-Sport mechanicals
![]() 05/17/2015 at 02:11 |

Nah. Its bland and boring. I’d rather drive a vespa
![]() 05/17/2015 at 02:36 |

Your comparing wrong segments, Impala is Large car. The Accord, Optima (which was good looking but its starting to be the same), 6, Camry, and Fusion are mid size. The 6 i like but there are angles that just feel off to me and im not sure why. Ill agree that the Malibu isnt up to par and they are trying, though im still not sure the 16 is the right direction, but “phoning it in” just because its a Chevy is laughable.
And it was a bit of a surprise, you had a car go from just an affordable large car to a contender if not be the best in segment. I was just giving a car that keeps getting forgotten.

Looks horrible in white and beige. But great in navy/red/black etc... the base model is also meh.

Fords seem to age rapidly. My company-car Focus wagon is from just before the Aston-facelift, and looks bland beyond belief.
Anyway, the current Fusion/Mondeo looks decent enough but the grille is too much and it’s said it’s not nearly as fun to drive as the previous gen (Mondeo, pictured as a 2007).

I’m not saying Chevy is phoning it in because they’re Chevy. I’m saying they’re phoning it in because they aren’t doing anything really good or striking with their styling.
Look at Cadillac and how good those cars look lately. Some Buick models are also surprisingly good looking. GM has the capability to churn out really nice looking vehicles, they just didn’t on the Malibu and the Impala.

It’s nice to know that personal opinions have become invalid!

The front of that wagon is much nicer looking imo. It could use a bit of tweaking to make it a bit more dynamic, but not the catfish face.

I thought mine was attractive.
