The Radio Le Mans boys just had a very long & informative interview with Nissan’s Darren Cox. Among several other interesting points was a confirmation, straight from Cox himself, that the 3 car Nissan Le Mans effort will be running to the 2 megajoule hybrid classification.

It’s pretty cool how open folks are with the RLM crew. I hear more good stuff about racing from listening to their event coverage.

Since the motor will be on the front axle, it looks like the GTR will race with 4wd again.

Not at Le Mans, Fwd only. When they get to the 8MJ target it’ll drive the rears. He talked about that too, i neglected to mention that & more because kinja mobile is awful.

I think RLM gets the good stuff for w few reasons. First they are hugely passionate about what they do. It is not just one of the things they cover. Endurance racing is their life. Second, they are respectful during interviews. Finally, they have done as much, if not more, than anyone to promote these race series.

You know what happened? They kept switching back and forth between talking about G56, the GT-R program at N24, and the Le Mans car and my brain stopped following. Of course it’s the Prototype. Derp.

I found the G56 discussion quite interesting, particularly the choice of garages 54-56 despite their lack of accoutrements for the VIPs.
