So this has started already.
On the FP they are talking about how GM is smart for setting up the levels of cost in 4 then 6 then 8 and how Ford is stupid for doing 6 then 4 then 8.
BOTH ARE CORRECT.
And Ford has the best advantage in it because not only does their turbo 4 offer better gas mileage than their V6, it offers more horsepower and torque.
Both ways makes sense. The GM 4 turbo is slower than the v6, the Ford 4-turbo is faster than the V6.
It’s all priced/set up appropriately.
So before this takes hold, stop it. Stop it now.
Is it so bad to think you might have to pay an extra $1,500 to get a faster, more advanced, and more efficient engine?
I don’t think it is. Also, I think it sounds terrible, but it’s working great as far as I know.
Camaro vs Mustang war is beginning quickly

The only thing that makes me mad is that the ATS doesn’t get the LT1.

Ah yes, the eternal battle over brand loyalty. Ford/Chevy. iOS/Android. Etc/Etc. I wish they’d all shut the f*ck up. But, that will never happen. You know who I’m loyal to? Whosoever can deliver the best looking, best performing, best “value” that appeals to me at the time I’m looking. But I don’t go whining on the interWebNetz about how what YOU bought blows donkey wang. I usually tell them to drive what makes you happy and keep your blow hole shut, then everyone is happy fanboi. lol

This proves they can do it.

You can’t exactly get a stripper EcoBoost.

hahaha
I don’t know what the chevy fan boi’s are going to do now that Ford put in the new rear suspension.

I know! That’s the infuriating part. Do people really think a 6 speed ATS-V won’t sell better than cars like the Chevy SS?

Continue winning because the Camaro is faster?

I prefer the mustang. I come from a Ford family. They both have their positives and negatives.
I think the mustang will win out on sales in the end because it’s more iconic to more people.
Most people already have their favorite so a few horsepower here or there won't change most people's minds.

I’m actually not even picking a side.
what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for the other.
Ford is doing turbo for performance lately.
GM does it for fuel efficiency.
Each is fine.

What is your definition of “faster”? I looked up a quick comparo (and in this case, C&D), seems to me the three 2015 ponies are equal with negligible differences...

Okulski? Did he say the same thing?
![]() 05/15/2015 at 16:12 |

It might not be, but the numbers are there.
ecoboost has 10 more hp and 40 more torque.
The 10 is negligible but the 40 should be noticeable.
On top of better MPG.
More performance + more technological motor (turbo) + better mpg = MORE MONEY
It’s just a logical formula.

My brother has two...I’m sure he’ll understand.

That’s not what this post is about, it’s about the fact that Ford and Chevy have different approaches and neither is wrong.
but i’m pretty sure it’s going to turn into “it’s only been a year since you lost your live axle, you think you’re good now or something!?”
![]() 05/15/2015 at 16:18 |

lol, come on man I didn’t put you out there like that!
And, there were a pile of other comments saying similar things, don’t worry.

It’s cool, man. But I totally agree with you on the “stupid concept, but seems to be working” front completely.

Where can I buy a Calvin sticker pissing on a Ford-4 turbo or a GM v-6?
![]() 05/15/2015 at 16:21 |

Just compromise and get a Dacia Sandero!
![]() 05/15/2015 at 16:26 |

i mean it’s really just how they want to position them. GM uses it for efficiency, Ford uses it for performance, whatevs.
(also I think the ford ecoboost sounds terrible and I heard it before all of you)
![]() 05/15/2015 at 16:27 |

Eh, too lazy to look it up. I’ve seen performance tests where the SS 1LE outperformed the 15 Mustang.
Take that, subtract 200lbs, add more power, Camaro will be faster.

To each his own.

I concur.
I’m not buying either anyway, since my 2.5 year old requires more legroom than is available in either one of these cars...

“There is no replacement for displacement!”
![]() 05/15/2015 at 17:04 |

Not to mention the fact that the regular ‘16 Camaro SS is supposedly faster around a track than the ‘15 SS with 1LE

As much as I've always liked the Mustang, I don't think it will win the sales battle since the Camaro has already been outselling the Stang for like 5 years now.
![]() 05/15/2015 at 18:03 |
|
Really? Didn't know that. I see way more mustangs. More evidence that anecdotal evidence doesn't mean squat
![]() 05/15/2015 at 18:14 |

I see more Mustangs as well but the Camaro actually does sell more.

![]() 05/15/2015 at 22:32 |

Oh, well then tuneable stripper Mustang vs much more easily tuneable stripper Camaro. :P
![]() 05/16/2015 at 10:08 |
|
I stand corrected. Since the 2015 model came out the Mustang has been outselling the Camaro. Sales for the month of April were up 80% for the Mustang and down 23% for the Camaro but that could change when the 2016 model gets released.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 10:32 |

Ooh plot twist.
I think the new camaro looks too much like the outgoing from what’s been leaked so far.
I prefer the mustang but I'm glad both are becoming good cars that can do more than go in a straight line without heavy modification. Strong completion will make them both better. Hopefully Chrysler will get the memo. I like the way the challenger looks but it's just too big.
![]() 05/16/2015 at 10:40 |
|
True that it looks similar but I think it was more about performance with the new Camaro which will definitely be insanely good.
IMHO the Challenger is more muscle car than the other 2. It doesn’t corner well but it’s big and it’s the most comfortable.

True-fact.
