Went to a conference for my job yesterday and as i was out on a lunch walk I spotted a lovely 5th Gen 4Runner with all the Overland Trimmings. Front and rear bumpers, full roof rack with LED front light bar and 6 small “working lights”. Hilift, Maxtrax, ladder, sliders, a 2-3 inch lift and the new BFG T/A Ko2 tires. Even had limb risers...It looked great.
I’m generally a fan of the 5th gen. It looks better than the 4th and has KDSS and crawl control but still retains all the toughness of the Prado platform with a true rear locker and good solid hardware. Its a little big on the outside (as large dimensionally as my 80 series Land Cruiser) for its interior space which is significantly smaller and I’m still not a fan of the hatchback versus the splitgate (which I found out recently was purely a market research decision....thanks alot pavement pounding urbanite moms) but its packs a lot of great hardware and capability for the price.

That's pretty nice. Looks like he has pretty much all of his bases covered. Did it look like it gets use?

Couldn’t tell. Looked pretty shiny and new.

Hope it gets use. It would be tragic if that was a garage queen.

I like to believe in a world where you don’t put maxtrax on your roof for show...but then again.

If he even knows Maxtrax exist I think he’s probably the real deal. That's not normally a item you seem on poseur vehicles, unlike a hi-lift.
