Am I the only one who thinks the styling on the C7 vette is too overwrought? Too much Peb Boys and not enough class? I don't think it will age well, certainly not as well as the c6.

No, you aren't, but you are allowed to be wrong like all those other people are. Heh.

Yes, you are. Now go sit in the corner and think about what you've done!
Jk but really, is beautiful. I am not a fan of C4-6 at all.

...Probably, yes. Or, at the very least, you're in a definitive minority.
I think it looks a lot better than the C6, which came off as very Fisher-Price-esque, particularly in regards to its headlights.

I’m with you. It already looks tired to me.

I don’t think the C6 aged particularly well.
The headlights look plain dopey to me and it has large sections of unbroken plastic/fiberglass that make it look like a toy car that someone ripped the bumpers off of.
The C7 is certainly more interesting to look at, and since most of its stuff is functional I think it will age decently despite the gaudiness.

The C6 looks like ass compared to the C7. The C7 looks like a car I can lust after, not some plastic-fantastic.

Every time I see a C7 in person it looks better than the last time I saw it.
As good as it looks in pictures, it looks even better in person. It has such a presence. So, while I doubt you’re the
only
person, you’re definitely in the minority.

While I agree to an extent, I don’t think the C6 looks particularly good.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 13:57 |

Nope, I also think it looks asstacular. C6 was a far classier, better flowing design.

C6 looks better than the C5. Which isn't to say I disagree with you about the C6.

But some butts look nice

The C7 looks like there’s more tacked on plastic bits (and lawn edging) while the C6 is smooth and “flowey”.
Though looking for a side by side picture, I realize I was thinking of the C5, but still, look at that mess Chevy calls a rear end.

Move over “class”, you’re slowing the track down lol

Yeah if there’s one thing that comes to mind when discussing Corvettes, it’s most certainly class.

I agree. I think it’s a great looking car, but it’s not smooth and flowing enough. To many sharp edges and disruptions.
Especially when compared to the Viper (which I am admittedly biased toward).

The C6 has aged well?

I thought the C7 was way too busy when I first saw it. I didn’t care much for the C6, so I wasn’t’ really comparing it to anything...
It’s growing on me.

I think would would rather have a c5 Zo6 than a base model C6
Now THAT shape has aged nicely.

Lemme put it this way: If the C6 didn’t look like a full-size version of a kit car I’d buy at Wal-Mart, and didn’t look like a rounded-up carbon-copy of the C5 without awesome pop-up headlights, maybe I’d like it more.
The C7 as outrageous as it looks, reminds me more of the Vette I covet most in life, the C3. Because dammit, Vettes needed to continue to look like the C3 and not look boring! After the C3, they all looked boring until the C7.
I think the C6 aged horribly, it looks like something from the 90s, much like the C5. Because it is from the 90s! The only generations to age well were the C1-C4, I have no doubt the C7 will age as well.

Hell of a car, but overwrought? Most definitely. But then again, “overwrought” is the general design trend for this decade. Take the last gen, and add more LEDs, black plastic bits, and vents. I think when we look back at this era in car design, it will be cars like the A4 and the Mazda 6 that will be the beacons of good design, not the Corvettes.

It’s aged far, far better than my sense of humor.

I’m an equal opportunity lover in this context, but the curvier C5 and its softer lines remain my favorite of post-80s Corvettes.

The C6 has a flat ass.

The C7 looks like the cars it competes with instead of a generic 2-seater like the C6.

The pop ups look so bad with the curves, though :/ and the C6 headlights just give me cancer.

Cars that are incredible to drive tend to do that for me...
But it is very shouty.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 15:39 |

It’s striking and attention-getting, but far from beautiful.
I also think it will not age very well.

That roofline is just wrong to me. But if you like it, go nuts.
![]() 05/14/2015 at 16:12 |

The roofline is what I like about it. It feels as low as is physically possible with only moderate consideration for its human passengers.

The front looks good. From the rear edge of the door back just looks awkward to me.
