Weirdly, I’ve never received any dealership tweets toward me. But I have received a few auto repair shops tweeting at me. They want business. Enjoy their and my tweets.

Full disclosure: I live in NorCal, I tweet with swear words.

This was yesterday. I really don’t want to make conversation with a repair shop that probably made their logo with Microsoft word. Literally. Grand theft auto 3 designers could have done better. I better call will smith up.

I only replied because I bike past there every day for my workouts. I’ve asked them a few times about reliability of 850 R’s. It’s a small ass shop by a crossfit gym, wtf.

My favorite gem. Good way to flack your medical dank kush through social media.

This is in Oakland. I live nowhere near here. And I’ll never let that shop touch the QX4 now....

The trade mags always run pieces extolling the virtues of Twitter and other social platforms beyond Facebook, and it always seemed to me like this would be the result. A bunch of weird, disingenuous attempts to drum up business. I’m 35, the generation the trade associations are convinced want this, and I run a successful repair shop. Literally none of my customers, young or old, want or would appreciate this unless they get something for free out of it.

I agree with you. I find it creepy.

Is it really a burnout if it’s on dirt?

Well, that’s debatable. I have a open diff on the QX4, and it dug its way to the bottom of the dirt to hardpack. It then started erupting large quantities of tire smoke. The last time I tried to do a burnout, my brakes were nearly shot. I was moving as I was not peeling off.

Smoke was involved, penalty recalled. Keep playing.
