So last night after watching someone play PROJECT CARS on Xbox one for about a hour via Twitch. I decided I should own this game. So minutes later I purchased the game from the dashboard and 3 hours later I was frustrated and genuinely felt ripped off.
Not because of the physics they are incredible ,
Not because I can’t mod the cars (that sucks but I’m after a solid simulator)
Not because it starts you out in a Shifter Cart ( this is Fucking baddas I think we can all agree)
I was pissed/upset because at RANDOM times in the game it will full lock one direction or the other and hold it for multiple seconds. This means that your perfect world record breaking lap can be ruined at a whim not because you throttled on at the top of a elevation change or because you throttled on too soon in a turn but because the game said so..
Anyhow I really hope they patch this soon, although I haven’t seen anything about a patch coming out.
Maybe I just lost this time and I should have known better before walking away from Forza 5 thinking the grass would be greener on the other side.
UPDATE : 5/14/2015
Last night I went home determined to make this game work . The physics are too damn good and it has too much potential to let it fall into the black hole that is DLC on the xbox one. My main changes were all in the sensitivity & dead zone areas when it came to steering , throttle , and braking. I like my sensitivity high and my dead zone at 0 or close to 0.
This makes a HUGE change in how the game acts when you counter steer and so on. Making the game much much better overall.
The next thing to keep in mind is that if you thought you were hot shit playing Forza 5 on unbeatable mode, you’ll feel like you have no hands playing PROJECT CARS on hard. One little mistake and there goes the race. Which brings me to my next point. Forza has had this rewind feature for a long time now and I think it’s safe to say some of us may have been relying on that feature to make stupid moves mid race.. Those days are over. No rewinding here .. IF you run into a wall and the entire pack of cars passes you .. You can either Restart or be the bigger man and finish the race for ultra realism.
Anyways I’ll continue to play the game but I’ll venture out to say that if you don’t change the controller settings on this game you’ll never enjoy it without a wheel set up..
GAMER TAG : DATASSUN - add me on Xbox One

I read the title and became very indignant. Now I’m better.

I spent the evening playing Postal 2. I was satisfied in the fact that it has zero redeeming qualities.

I was worried that you were talking about project cars as opposed to Project Cars the game. Now I’m not as upset. I haven’t used it yet, but all accounts I’ve seen point to iRacing still being king when it comes to physics and racing.

I backed it when it was first announced, have played it since.
I’m still waiting to enjoy it beyond an OOOOOH! PRETTY! level.

I’m still validated but it appears no one listened to by worries/rant/bitching.

Also you’re off your head mate, the karts are garbage and some of the worse racing I’ve ever had the misfortune of playing that said the Superkarts are decent.

I’ve had that happen once, so I personally haven’t had a big problem with it. The only gripe I have so far is that the tires seem to have an on/off switch when it comes to cold>warm grip. Granted I haven’t messed with tuning or compounds at all, so it just might be that. One thing I do wish games like Assetto Corsa and pCARS would do is ship the game with optimal car setups for each track, at least for dry conditions. I want to race, not spend hours tweaking car setups.

One annoying ass thing is that sometimes when I correct or move the car left, it will keep going left. Off the road. And the AI are dick holes.

Thats the issue I’m mostly upset with.

I didn’t see your posts. If I had I don’t think I would have spent the 60 bucks .. I’m just hoping they fix the damn game otherwise I’ll NEVER buy another game made by this developer.

Yup, I backed it too, played it a bit every few weeks, started to like it less and less and when the opportunity was there to get a refund, I took it.
It honestly was a much better game a year and a half ago (driving feel wise) than it is now.

Pre Ordered this game, not as impressed as I was hoping to be. The track selection is good, it looks pretty, but without a steering wheel its damn near impossible to play.

Incredibly aggravating..

Agreed, at least there will be Forza6 coming for the holidays.

I’m not having this problem on PC with a wheel, not that this helps you but maybe some other PC oppos. Also someone else mentioned it, but karts are hot trash.

Hows the multi-player environment? Assetto Corsa’s dedicated server is all function and no features, which is rather annoying.

I haven’t actually tried it yet. None of my buddies have been online at the same time since it came out!

on the PCars forum the devs have mentioned a patch for the wonky controls is in the works and actually being tested now. So as soon as testing and certification is finished it’ll hit.

There’s so much potential with this game. But in the current age of games, it’s all about getting the game out of the door then fix major problems later if a lot of people complain.
